This is a great product I use it for paracord and I love that it self tightens. The fact that it came with a big sharp needle is such a plus those are hard to find. Will be buying again

This is the perfect kit to wrap the ends of rope. I also used it to fasten the ends of a wound line.

Excellent thread size for working with leather goods, ie, knife sheaths, hand gloves, hats, belts, etc!

I bought this twine for whipping sailing rigging lines in 2022. After whipping my lines, I used Star Brite Whip-It Dip-it. All my lines are exposed to sun and salt water; most lines are exposed to full sun every day. So far, all the whipping is in excellent condition.

This is a sturdy twine, very smooth to use, and it has low friction when pulling it through material. I purchased it to whip my climbing ropes, but it can also be used for heavy duty sewing repairs, leather work projects, or rope whippings. Many climbers find it useful to whip their kern mantle rope in order to keep the inner core from moving or shifting inside the outer sheath.

I purchased this sail twine kit, which I have used in the past, to whip the ends of a very thick manila rope (see attached image). It is currently sold by Amazon at a competitive Prime cost.Made in Rhode Island, it is a waxed, three strand, right-hand laid, polyester twine of ~0.20" [0.55 mm] diameter and 6 lb maximum safe working load. It has low stretch, and is abrasion and weather resistant. It includes a 3"-long needle with a round tip (instead of a sailmaker's triangular tip) and a large threading hole 3/4" long. The needle was rather useful for making a sailmaker's whipping on the manila rope.Although not indicated here, the waxed twine carries the Proposition 65 warning "this product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm". Some online retailers --clearly more transparent than Amazon-- give this warning, due to the presence of titanium dioxide. (This isn't an idle warning, as TiO2 is considered a "possible carcinogenic" by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, and the European Food Safety Authority no longer deems it safe as a food additive.) For usual and customary use, however, working the twine should be safe if you don't touch other things, particularly your mouth, before washing your hands with soap to remove the wax (optionally, rub the skin first with mineral, baby, or olive oil, and paper-towel dry them after ~30 seconds and then wash the hands).-

Its exactly what the page claims, high quality wax thread on a spool, with a needle. It's also made in the USA. I used it to whip some eye splices in a bunch of 3 strand nylon rope. I don't like relying on melting my splices, so i prefer to use the old method of whipping with wax thread. If i have any complaint its that the max seems a tiny bit too slimy. This may actually be a good thing, but i'm used to a wax thread that is a bit more stiff and chalky. Either way, the splice i used this on was used all summer to life over 100 lbs and was almost constantly submerged in fresh water. I checked the whipping at the start of fall, and it looks like brand new.
