This leash is the best leash I’ve owned so far!I love taking my dog to creeks and let her swim and run around as well as at the lake.However, I like to have control over her just in case!With 30 feet she can go pretty far without feeling tied and I feel confident that I am still in control in case I need to pull her or rescue her.The leash is very strong and it doesn’t get tangled since it isn’t the flat type of cord that is easily tangling.The casing is made of a strong plastic that looks like durable and the handle has good grip.This has given me such a peace of mind!

New dog owner here, of a rescue small dog, 23~ pounds. I can't really walk her without a leash because SQUIRREL sometimes she finds herself distracted BIRD and I have trouble letting her just run around RANDOM PIECE OF PAPER BLOWING DOWN THE STREET since I keep her on a OH NO IS THAT A BEE!?? 6' leash.This enables me to take her to a park ONCE THERE WAS A FRIENDLY DOG AT THIS HOUSE I MUST RUN TO IT AND CHECK and throw her ball while keeping BUNNY her from running away or getting hurt.It was easy to use the buttons, which I was afraid about, not having had a retractable leash before. I also appreciate that it is longer than most leashes!

This is heavy and needs to be for a large dog. It’s clunky to hold and uncomfortable to carry for long periods of time but is heavy duty for a dog that pulls.

This has a heavy, sturdy handle, which I love. I sometimes struggle walking our 65lb lab, but this leash has literally been a game changer. We both appreciate the flexibility of giving him longer roaming space with the leash extension. I appreciate that there is a ribbon to hold on to when the leash is fully retracted so I have good control when other dogs walk by.

I bought this to walk my 105# sheepadoodle. He pulls hard sometimes and needs to be brought in near other dogs. The "flat lead" style leashes sometimes jam when they don't retract in evenly. This lead is a simple round style (except the last foot, which is flat). So, no matter the twists put on it, it retracts perfectly, every time. Not once has this jammed, and I just spent a few minutes trying to jam it before writing this review. The housing is solid and made of a nice, strong plastic with a rubberized handle/grip area. The retract mechanism is very smooth and feels like it was made in a machine shop. The button for stopping/starting retract is very easy to use, even when he is pulling hard. The lock button locks easily, but does take a little effort to unlock. I think the 30' length is all I could want, so I'm very happy with it, and it functions as good as I could expect. For $30, this is a must have leash.

I use retractable leashes a lot with my dog on hiking trails in our area. I have one with a flat ribbon rope that sometimes gets stuck - so I wanted to try one that wouldn’t get stuck as much. I like this leash overall. It retracts easily and is light. The one thing I don’t like is the thumb position for the lock button. On my other leashes - it is in a very natural position for my hands. But this is further back and I need to adjust my hand position. I have long fingers - so this would be worse for someone with short fingers. I also write this review with the caveat that this should only be used for dogs who are well-trained and have a good recall. The dog I use this for listens well and is trained off leash. I use this to obey leash laws and give him freedom to explore while still keeping him safe in an environment with wild animals. Dogs who are not well-trained could be a danger to others on this leash since it is hard to control a dog with this.

It's roughly the same size if not a little smaller than my current 26ft leash. The cable in the center isn't your standard retractable flat ribbon but more like a very thick fishing braid. I'm not worried about the durability of it at all, and it seems to handle twists in the cable extremely well.The grib is rubberized which I feel is a nice touch, and the whole thing is probably the same weight as the current leash I have been using. I've gone through 3 retractables so far (dropping them, fraying the leash from rubbing on trees, or my dog outgrowing them) and this is probably my favorite aside from the locking switch. I'm sure with a while of use it will be like second nature to use.Also the flywheel or whatever they use to hold the cable, it's an oddly very satisfying gentle pull. Feel like it retracts faster than my old one. I'd recommend this for anyone who needs a new one or wants to give them a try.

I have tried many retractable leashes. Both amazon brands and the big name brand Flexi. This is, by far, my favorite of any of them. The Flexi brand leashes designed for dogs up to 110lbs is not string, but tape. The string is highly preferred. It doesn't twist, tangle, or make noise when retracting unlike the tape version. It is also more resilient in the rain(I don't have to pull it all out to dry it like I do with the tape leash). It is strong enough to control my 95lb German shepherd, though I connect to a collar and not a harness because he is very strong. When passing others, I lock the leash, and hold onto the nylon strap(serves as a traffic handle as you can't hold onto the string) for guaranteed control. The nylon strap is 1" thick, so it is easy to hold onto and won't hurt your hands. One massive plus to this leash, is the rubber handle. This significantly reduces the risk of the leash slipping from your hands. The big name retractable leashes do not even have a rubberized grip. The locking mechanism is different to all other leashes we have tried, but I quickly got used to it and it has actually become my favorite. My hand doesn't struggle to reach the brake or lock, which has been an issue with other ones with a slippery handle. It is incredibly well made. I highly recommend this leash, with no exaggeration.
