This is the heavy duty can you might have had in the '50s.Not a plastic thing that will deteriorate and crack. I've purchased plastic 5 gal cans that were very nice and also expensive. You get what you pay for and you'll pay a lot for this but it will last for decades.Pouring gas from this is a pleasure. A great design.Make sure you get the spout you want. I chose the smaller one (I think 5/8") that fits a car's gas filler.I ended up also buying a 2 gal model.
