Very easy to use, turn on and starts working instantly. Great overlay options to help figure out what you are looking at. Will clearly identify the hottest and coldest spot in view. Does feel a bit easier to ID the hot spots vs cold spots. For reasonably close range and/or unobstructed distance it works very well. If trying to see something past an obstructing object, it needs to be really close behind that obstructing object to pick it up -- and example is it struggled to ID temps of things through an exterior window. When we used it for ID'ing drafts, even IDing active electrical lines just behind a wall it worked very well.
