Hold in odors great, and despite the other reviews I think the hinge seems quite durable. That being said this is barely smaller than the normal Ubbi sealed bin. I would have actually liked to have an option that is a a little smaller than this, but this will do for now. Could I have measured out the listed dimensions first? Yeah, but I was gunna need this either way so I bought it anyway.I use it for containing poops from my baby and it does pretty well at that.

If you’re a new parent and think a regular trash can will do the trick — let me stop you right there. This diaper pail (what I use it for because of the large opening) is the MVP we didn’t know we needed. It locks in smells like a vault, looks sleek in the nursery, and makes diaper changes feel almost glamorous (okay, maybe that’s a stretch — but close). What I love most is how easy it is to use one-handed (because the other is usually holding a wiggly baby), and the refills last longer than I expected. No wafts of “what is that?!” when you walk into the room. Just clean air and peace of mind.If you’re on the fence — get off it. This pail will save your nose, your sanity, and your relationships. Five stars without hesitation.

Too deep for 4 gal bags. We filled the bottom with styrofoam so the bags fit right. We use it for cat litter disposal.

We were very satisfied with Ubbi Adult Diaper Pail, we bought this Pet Waste Pail for a smaller version to be placed in another room on another floor in the house.Just as expected.. It is great at sealing in odour. Very easy to load and then later empty the plastic bag.

Olía mal como si ya se hubiera usado ademas de que traía algo que probablemente era arena de gato, pues olía a arenero sucio. Solo lo limpie pues me dió flojera regresarlo pero la marca es buena y el bote funciona de maravilla.

I've used this for over a month, and it only became full today. Good size, and no smell at all.

Product, Ubbi pet waste disposal systemPurchase Date: Aug 11, 2023Review Date: Aug 25, 2023I did not receive this product on any type of promotion or free. I paid full price for it...Plenty of photos included.Initial note: If you have strength issues, this can become extremely heavy if you let it become full. On my first change out, the pail, plus the litter weighed in at 28 lbs (12.70kg.) Now you can empty it whenever, but this is simply helpful info is all.Cat scoopHandle 5" L x 1.25" WScoop portion 7" L x 5" WThe scoop area open spaces are 1/8" between each one.Ubbi pet waste pailFrom the bottom of the pail to the lip of the pail with a full open lid is 16".With the full lid open from front to back in the center is 10-1/8"Across is 8-1/4"The actual scooping lid open area is 7" x 7" with the front having a circular shape. The height, not including the lid knob is 17-7/8"The pail itself is steel, the lid for scooping is also steel, enclosed by plastic. The main opening has a rubber or silicone gasket, as well as the scoop lid has one as well. This keeps the odor from escaping.I see individuals saying it smells when open... Yes, odor will escape when you open the lid to scoop litter. This is common sense folks. Just like your trashcan in your kitchen does.Inside the pail at the top center rear is a small enclosure for holding the companies odor control disc.I did not buy their odor control disc's. But I believe you could easily add a very small box of baking soda to the bottom to help control odors. I would just place the box in the bottom when you add the bag. Instead of buying small boxes over and over, buy a very large bag of baking soda and refill the box weekly. The scoop lid itself is easily opened by just turning the scoop lid knob. The scoop lid opening can easily, and I mean easily accommodate any size scoop.I opted for trying out the Ubbi made bags. They are red in color, and likely have some type of built in chemical to help with odor control, but I can't say for sure.Note: The Ubbi pet waste system can use plastic grocery bags, or even regular kitchen trash bags. It is specifically designed to allow for this feature. The pail lid itself which opens is very hard to open when there is no litter in the pail. If you push on the center part of the metal under where it latches, it will open easily. I recommend placing a new bag in immediately after removing the old bag to avoid the issue.Once there is litter in the bag, and the more you add, the pail lid itself open much easier. But once empty again, it returns to being harder to open. I am not referring to the scoop lid which open by turning the knob. But the actual pail lid itself.I can tell you the bags are extremely thick, and have a great length to them. You will have at least 7-8 inches extra over the height of the pail. The bag wraps over an internal plastic lip. Due to the extra length, it will never slip down into the pail. This system hold a lot of litter. I wanted to see how much, so I let it fill up 3/4 of the way before emptying it the 1st time. I weighed myself, then I weighed myself holding the 3/4 full pail with litter. Once I subtracted my weight, the pails weight, the litter weight it was holding was 23 lbs (10.43kg). That is an extremely impressive amount of weight for a bag to hold.I wasn't sure if the Ubbi brand bags would hold under that weight without breaking and the litter going all over.I tied the bag off and started shaking the full bag very roughly up and down, side to side. I did this for a good 40 seconds. Their bags didn't budge at all or stretch. At no point in time during the shaking did I feel the bag was ever going to break. I can't tell you how extremely impressed I am with that. I have used previously the litter genie system, and our litter champ system. One of the issues I have had off and on is the bag breaking. Try cleaning that up without frustration, especially if it happens over your carpet. One of the other deficiencies with litter genie and litter champ was moving it around. With Litter Genie (generation 1) the front latching system would pop open with weight and movement. With Litter Champ the weight would sometimes do the same thing.Note:The handle on the Ubbi is on the back top outside of the pail. It is extremely heavy duty and makes moving the pail around a breeze. Since it's in the back, instead of on the top like Litter Champ, there is absolutely no way it can pop open the lids, or break off with it's design. This feature alone for me personally is worth the almost double price versus the other two systems I used. Throw in you can use any type of bags by design in it, and you have an absolute gold standard product. But even worse, is when the handles on Litter Champ busted off from the weight. 2 of the 4 Litter champs we have had this happen. When this happens, trying to open the pail lid fully isn't easily accomplished at all. Since our scoops (DuraScoop) are massive, I can't use the opening on Litter Champ. I have to fully open the lid. When you do this, you often get cat litter into the bagging area and into the bottom of the pail.It is for these reasons, broken handles, small scoop area unless the full lud is open, and the occasional breaking bags, I started looking again for a new system after 4 years with Litter Champ. The bottom of the pail has a removable rubber gasket to help prevent it from sliding around. The only downside I can see which I think should have been added is a clip on the back to place you cat litter scoop to hang.Recommendation: To compensate for that deficiency I bought 3M command hooks and mounted it to the back for the scoop. The size of the command hooks will easily accommodate any size hook on a litter scoop. They are the medium size, with dimensions of 1.2"W x 3.125"L x 1.25"D. The hook is very deep. I think 2 hooks were $4ish.I have only had this since August 11, and it's now August 25. I have only to emptied it 1 time since using it.I can tell you based on everything I have seen, felt, with this pet waste system it is extremely well made with quality materials. It was engineered to fix all of the things I despised about the other waste disposal systems I have and do use.Whats more important is the fact that based on the quality of design and materials it reminds me of how our country used to make our products. They were meant to last, and to last an extremely long time, with ease of use.One of my other thoughts is even if this company went out if business I could still use it because it is designed to use regular kitchen garbage bags. If the other two states I used went out of business they are worthless due to the proprietary bag system they use. Unless someone picked up making the bags of course.Once all of our Litter Champ bags are gone, I'll be replacing the other 3 pails with these. When I had Litter Genie (generation 1) it made life easier. But couldn't store much and was flimsy, and a bad design for real world use. Then I went to Litter Champ. It improved on the design deficiencies of the old system. It made life much easier even with it's design deficiencies. Then I started using the Ubbi pet waste system and in my opinion, outside of the litter scoop hook, absolutely blows away the other two systems, and I mean freaking blows them away. The downside is I paid $66 for Ubbi, and I believe about $34 for Litter Champ. But on the bag savings alone, I will have paid for the difference in bag savings cost.If I have any issues at all, I will update this review. I have updated product reviews up to 6 years later, so you can count on an update review if everything goes south, or if I love the system even more.Right now, if I could give this a star rating out of 5 stars, it would be far far above 5 stars.Go buy this right now, and I mean right now!

Not a cat person. I'm used to dogs. I took in a stray I have been taken care of since he was five weeks old. He recently was poisoned and was drooling excessively to the point he couldn't eat. I found out from my neighbor the other stray and feral cats rejected him and constantly attacked and fought him because they were jealous he was well taken care of even though he lived outside for a year. I could tell he was getting depressed because he was not allowed inside like the dogs were. It was sad watching a depressed cat like he was losing interest in living and wasn't eating like he used to. Luckily, he didn't die and recovered after a week of treatment. The vet recommended I keep him inside to my dismay and his happiness. So I had to learn how to live with a cat. I thought I was allergy free until I started living with a cat and when he defecated, the whole house had a ferocious smell that was unbearable and reduced my quality of life depressing me. After doing a bunch of research since I was on the verge of throwing him back on the streets, I learnt from a cat person that sand litter like Cat's Pride is better to reduce tracking. Line the bottom of the litter box with baking soda. Then, pour in at least 3 to 4 inches of litter then sprinkle more baking soda on top. Mix the baking soda with the cat litter with thescooper until it blends in and this helps reduce the odor. Also, clean the litter box daily. I purchased a jumbo litter mat to put the litter box on and fragrance sprayer like plugins. I purchased this Ubbi because it saves you from multiple trips to the dumpster or outside garbage can. I also like I can use regular garbage bags and not special bags which would cost more money.I placed a regular 13 gallon garbage bag inside and placed the scooped up feces in regular plastic shopping bags, tie them up, and place them in the Ubbi and lock it to seal in the odor. I also purchased some scented Ubbi bags but they haven't arrived yet. I have done this and no odor. My quality of life is back to normal, my home smells fresh again, and no one can tell I have a cat unless they really look hard. With the Ubbi, I opened it and take out the cat poop bags outside when I am ready to. The cat is happy too. I purchased him a blanket he doesn't use, cat bed, a scratching post he uses multiple times a day, and a cat tree he loves the most. When I opened the door and asked him if he wants to go outside, he says nope and turns on heels and goes back inside. He's totally content. He's a quick learner. Now, I have the smelly litter box situation resolved and the purchase of the Smart Cat scratching post resolves the scratching on furniture and walls, just have to teach him to be patient, respect boundaries, and to be comfortable with me giving him baths without him scratching me to death.I love this Ubbi. Very happy with my purchase. I placed a poop bag inside this morning that I will throw away when I feel like it. So new cats owners who don't want a smelly home, this is a must have.

Few comments bothered me from purchasing this product in advance. Comments from others mentioned about no scoop hanger or odor removal compartment were missing from purchase. Does not contain odor within and compared with regular trash cans. The product arrived in a good condition with everything included as advertised. I don’t understand how others expect the pail to not stink when they are opened. When the pail is closed with lock feature, since they have a silicon seal under the lid, it does prevent from odor getting out from the pail.People are saying they stink is because they are not using wood chip litter, rather they are using clay type. Change your litter, Sherlock. One advise of your product is that, it is better to provide a hook for the bag or clamps to have them firmly secured. If I use a regular sized bag, it will just fall down to the bottom of the pail on the first dump. It beats the whole purpose of not having to buy special bags as you advertised.
