JL Tailgate Storage Box Install Process
Moderate Installation Requires Some Drilling
- Open the tailgate to prepare for installation.
- Use the original vehicle holes marked in the install guide. Removing the middle plastic plate, punch upper two installation holes, and use positioning paper to assist in drilling lower two holes.
- Lift the storage box, align it with installation holes on the box and factory vehicle. Use provided screws for installation. Add nylon round spacer for outer two holes.
- Insert hooks into internal circular holes for using the net.

Nice sturdy product, but what it’s LACKING is the Quality Control on the product. Install was easy as can be except for the fact that the door is misaligned but that came from the factory. That’s why it’s getting 3 stars only. The gap is very noticeable and the door rubs when you open and close it. I took a dead blow hammer and had to tap the side in so it wouldn’t rub as bad. For the price I paid it should have been caught before leaving the manufacturing line. It will suffice for what I need, but disappointed to say the least.
