Turns your USB-A port into an audio on/out for connecting a mic and headphones (or line out) at the same time. Excellent, simple, well-designed and - what's most important - well working device!

I needed a USB audio adapter to use a set of headphones with boom mic (single 3.5mm output plug) on a MacBook with a single combined 3.5mm headphone/microphone port, which is useless for said application, by the way. With a Y audio adapter cable (1 x female-in to 2 x male-out), you now have old school green and pink plugs to insert into the UGREEN adapter, which in turn plugs into an available USB port on your computer. The sound quality is excellent. If you have any computers with separate green and pink inputs for phones and mic, you can also plug the Y-adapter connected to your phones directly into the computer with no need to convert the connection to USB.For MacBooks (and any other computer) with only one audio port, converting from a wired to a USB input is one way to go, and the UGREEN adapter is a perfect solution.

I have a Lenovo W 530 Thinkpad which doesn't have a standalone microphone port. The built in microphone doesn't work well on Skype so I purchased this hoping that I will be able to use this for providing microphone input. The works fine but it turns out I've to use it in conjunction with an earphone/headphone since inserting the USB causes the laptop's speaker to stop working. I was under the impression that I would be able to use Laptop's built-in speaker along with an external microphone after plugging it in but that doesn't seem to be the case. Having said that it does work if I use both earphone and microphone and the sound input from the microphone is clear.

Wow. you really don't know you need something till you buy it. I bought a new dell 3650. I plugged in my computer speakers which are Logitech Z323 2.1 set ( two satellite and one sub-woofer). When I would turn the volume dial up above 50% I could hear static noise coming from my speakers. At this point I came to conclude, I got a defective Dell. So I exchanged it the next day for the exact same Dell model 3650. Although, even on the newly exchanged PC I noticed the same static noise was still present. I also have a Dell 660s which I tried my speakers on and it works fine. That brought me to figure that there was a defect in the design of the motherboard on the new dell 3650 which is a disappointment. So that's what brought me to buying a UGREEN external sound card. Boy, I must say that I have never heard my speakers sound so great in my life. Even when I have my speakers plugged into my Dell 660s embedded sound card the speakers don't sound as crisp as they do when utilizing the UGREEN external sound card. Not only was the static gone, but the overall quality of sound coming from my speakers was far more superior, period. Now that I have this nice little sound card I don't think I can do without. Even If i buy another computer with Zero Flaws, Id still use this sound card to get that extra rich quality sound this card produces. You will defiantly appreciate this little device. Best part is unlike other external sound cards that have a "stub" design. This one has a short extension design which allows and ensures your not blocking off any other usb ports or plugs in back of your PC while using this sound card. In conclusion, Two thumbs up! Thanks UGREEN!

I've been using for just a few hours, so don't take my review too seriously. Until now the product seems good. It's just as described. Sound seems good to me, didn't try the mic. Due to the cable, it doesn't disconnect easily, and most importantly, doesn't break easily: my previous audio adapter didn't have the cable between the USB and the adapter so I kept hitting it with my arms by accident, which makes me wonder how it still even works :). Or how my USB input is still fine.I was going to give it 4 stars because sometimes the sound only outputs in one side of the headphone, But from my tests, my 6.4 mm to 3.5 mm adapter (which I also got today) seems to be the real problem. I will change my review if that isn't the case, but for now it's 5 stars. Worth more than the $6.99 I paid.

I bought this device because there seems to be a lot of what I will call 'electronic noise' through my computer's 3.5mm headphone jack. Whenever I would give any amount of volume to my music I would get a lot of extra noise, almost static. I tried a different headphone cables but I realized it was the port because as I would touch the connection it would create more or less static. If I found exactly the right position of the headphone cable I might get it to be clear until it moved again and then more electronic noise. Very annoying. This unit works exactly as I expected and as designed. I no longer get any extra noise through the USB port. I am grateful for the price, which was below 10 dollars.I like that this unit has a bit of an extension on to it rather than it being a single piece connecting directly into the USB port where it can interfere with my other USB connections on the same bank of USB ports. The unit seems well manufactured and is color coded for headphones and microphone ports. There is an engraved picture of a headphone and microphone on each port, but I could barely see those, so the color helped give it away.I plugged it in and Windows 7 immediately detected it and took a few seconds to load the drivers the first time as the popup near the clock indicated it was loading the drivers. I connected my headphones and a microphone. Windows plays my music through this device and pics up my microphone great. I am very please to have a great solution to my problem other than replacing the motherboard for those built in sound card 3.5mm jacks.
