We're still clearing property from last year's hurricane damage here in Florida. When the guys are out on the property working to clear brush, branches, thorns, etc, I always worry about the snakes. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these when we received them. The shin area gets the most protection, which goes around and buckles around the calf. These are adjustable, and I have one son who's 5-9, 180 pounds, and my husband is 6 feet and 220 pounds. These fit either one of them with some adjustment. It has good coverage over the top of their boots. These were easy to put on and secure to the belt without sliding down. These are great to give them some protection when out there in the woods, and provide me some peace of mind.

I have never seen anything like these. They fit amazingly great!.They strap on to your belt and tou wear then on top of your pants or legs. They have something hard inserted between the layers, i dont need to make a snake bite them to know these would absolutely work. They have a flap that gies over your shoes and are easily adjustable around your calf too.Probably not for someone with bigger thighs or tou would have to wear them low.10 out of 10.These will give me so much oeace of mind when im out hiking in snake country during snake season.I highly recommend these.

I would say these are really nice to have. They are made very well. This color is nice for camouflage in South Texas where there is red dirt, mesquite trees, cactus and thorn bushes. I wanted these for my husband for extra protection while hunting and ranching from cactus and mesquite but for myself too and my son who is 10 years old. I'm only 5'0 so even if I get a pair of expensive snake boots, Rattlesnakes can still strike above my knee. They fit my whole leg, they're loose on me but they will do their job, anyone taller than 5'0 will still fit the calf and upper leg quite a bit! They fit my husband perfectly he's 5'10" and 180lb, on my son they wrap tight enough to be snug around his calf and the upper part can be folded down to adjust to him. They stay upright even without the belt strap, this is different than what was advertised though, it's not a buckle belt strap and the color is also not what was shown. I actually like this darker color better, it matches my South Texas camo. They cover the foot decently and they are very comfortable and easy to put on. I've never been bitten by a snake but I have had thorns in my upper thigh that went through my jeans, so I'm going to be very thankful to have these out at the ranch. The price isn't too bad for extra protection and peace of mind. Great quality.

My husband wanted these so bad because we live on a watershed and there are a bounty of copperheads and moccasins around when he weedeats. Our neighbor has already been bitten so when my husband saw these he had to have them. I didn't think they were going to fit him with pants on but they do. The straps that go around the leg allows you to open them fairly large. Although I can't imagine someone with super thick legs being able to wear these. Keep in mind he's 175 lbs at 6'4" and they literally fit him like a glove with the straps let out almost all the way. He loves the camo colors and the thick shield across the shins. They are thick and heavy; seemingly very durable. He feels safer going into the woods with these on. They aren't comfortable per se but safety comes first.

Nice chaps for walking through overgrown brush and snake areas. The belt straps on my chaps had a metal hook and loop system which I like more than the plastic clip kind of system shown in the listing pictures. Thigh area is laminated and feels waterproofed and there's a nice mesh lining on the shin part. I had good room in the thigh without the chaps being ultra floppy or loose. I have a 30" inseam and these chaps can probably be worn by someone with a 29" inseam and maybe a 28" inseam. Definitely feel like they're made for average-sized males. Overall, everything feels really sturdy and I feel like you get a lot for the money.

These Chaps slide over your existing jeans. They are held up with a strap that loops over your belt. This does hold them up, but does not feel like they are also pulling down on your belt. Another review stated they are too narrow to go over an average sized man's leg, but at just over 200 lbs, they fit just fine. Unless you are very large, with XXXL thighs, you won't have a problem with fitThe material is heavy duty and there is some sort of solid insert in the shin section for extra protection. Overall, for the price, these are a good value

I'm so glad I ordered these. I have a pair of big snake boots (in picture) that I bought and have only worn twice because they're like walking in cement blocks. With these gaiter chaps, your ankle is free to move in your regular walking boots while the gaiters provide really solid but light weight protection. The uppers (chaps) will keep the thorns from ripping up my cargo pants I usually wear. Although they don't look like it, these go on and off very easily. I'm in the woods constantly with my SAR K9 and these will get plenty of use. Great product.
