I received the magnet very quickly and it works great! I love that it has a handle and the release which didn’t work with the nails I found but there were only a few on it. It is a hefty tool and seems relatively durable though the outer casing is plastic. I was able to find lots of nails and other metal pieces around my house from when we had the roof done recently and thanks to the handle o just tied a rope to it and it was able to be swung above the garden beds to grab the nails. The original price seems a bit much for what it is but it’s better with the discount currently being offered which still makes it $40. I haven’t compared prices on magnetic items like this therefore I’m not sure if it’s reasonable or competitive. Overall I am happy with it but unfortunately I would probably see if I could find something stronger and/or more reasonably priced.

The pickup tool is useful for basic garage tasks but has some noteworthy limitations. While it adequately holds screws, bolts, and small metal items when directly applied, the magnetic strength isn't sufficient for vertical applications - it slides down when attached to cabinet sides rather than staying firmly in place. The plastic construction shows concerning signs of stress out ofpackega and has some cracking issues that raise durability questions. The quick-release feature works Great as intended for dropping collected items into containers, and the rubber grip is reasonably comfortable & easy to use even swivels around for best grip. It performs adequately on flat surfaces but struggles with uneven terrain and deep cracks where small items hide. This tool offers basic functionality for picking up dropped hardware but falls short of being a heavy-duty solution for more demanding magnetic pickup applications.

I was intrigued by this pick-up tool, so I ordered it, and now I am just really glad I did. I can use this as it comes - meaning holding it by the handle, running it along my workbench to pick up stray metal objects, or I can attach a rope or hooks to it and extend my reach without bending down. This is particularly helpful when I’m working on my fence project and pulling down old sections of the fence - it grabs all of those old screws that I drop. Before this little gem, I’d drag a big magnet along the ground. Here’s the best part about this new favorite tool - once you have collected all those metal objects, no need to scrape your hand over it to remove them - just pull up on the plunger and the metal drops into whatever you’re holding the magnet over. The magnet is attached to the plunger and housed inside the bell-shape with a metal barrier. In my case, the screws I drop get picked up by the magnet and rest against the metal barrier, but when I pull the plunger up, the magnet disengages and the screws drop into the bin. Ingenious! Super simple to use, easy to store in my work area and solid build quality. Not too heavy for me to use on the regular, and I do appreciate the color which won’t get lost in my she-shed!

When I first saw this magnetic pickup device, I knew it was destined for my shop. See, I've got a bit of a recurring condition called "the drops" - you know, when one minute you're carefully sorting your prized collection of tiny 3mm bolts, and the next thing you know, your shop looks like someone tossed a hand grenade into your carefully organized hardware drawers.Well, it didn't take long before this magnet had its first trial-by-fire. Yep - I dropped the whole drawer of those tiny screws. But thanks to this thing, I didn't end up spending the next week on my knees. The magnet is strong enough that it snatches up every last screw, nut, bolt, tack - you name it - as long as it's ferrous. (Thank goodness it wasn't my stainless collection - that would've been a different story!)But small parts recovery isn't the only trick up its sleeve. It's also perfect for picking up sheet steel that's stacked on the shop floor. This thing's got some power, and you can make everything fall off of the stick just by pulling up that red ball on top to really good magnet for cleaning up your work space the red ball just comes up a little too easy.On its own, it should have the gasketter.Something did not make it slight as easy, but it's still super strong

I have two favorite uses for this tool:1) When a screw, bolt, nut, washer, etc. is dropped you can use it to scan the approximate area to retrieve it.2) I have a large jar of loose screws, bolts, nuts, and washers. When I am looking for a specific size for a project need, I dump it out on a table or the floor to locate what I need. As you can imagine, picking them up previous to this tool was time consuming. Now I pick up large amounts at a time with the tool, place the magnetic wand inside of the jar, slide to release so the items fall into the jar.....simple!I really like the unique feature of the slide to release mechanism. The tool is durable and will last a long time.
