I first bought one of these years ago for tailgating at Philadelphia Union games. Finally had to replace it after years of service in good weather and bad weather. When I ordered the new one the “last purchased” notice from Amazon told me I bought the first one almost exactly 13 years ago. If the new one lasts half that long it will be money well spent!

Easy to collapse for storage and travel, easy to back onto with the truck or camper to keep in place. Easy to open up and add flags to. Somewhat difficult to tighten at each segment. (Tiny hands). Flag clips kept coming undone from the flag. (Plastic). We've only used it once at this point.

The product is awesome in theory but the clips for the flag aren't able to be swapped out and they're cheap plastic hooks. It broke the first time I used it. Great design but they used garbage hardware.

I bought this for camping and put 2 flags on it and secured it to the RV both with a sandbag at the bottom and connected at the back of the RV. The weather had some mild winds with a few short gusts at about 15 mph. In calm environment the weight of 2 3x5 flags had it bending a bit and with some wind it started bowing and with a few gusts, it finally bent over and snapped in half. I had to discard it because of the poor quality of aluminum it is made out of. I would not buy this product and i just lost $100 for using it.

For the money it does a great job. Easy to set up. The base is pretty bomb proof. The only thing I could ever imagine going wrong with it is maybe the threading where the base attaches to the pipe and also the screw for the actual pole could possibly get cross threaded. The flag pole is light weight but seems strong enough for its intended purpose. You could easily bend it in half if you wanted to, but I don't think the wind on a mild to moderately windy day would bend it to the point of breaking. You really need to make sure the sections are tightened enough or else they may slide back down.I used it with one and two 3x5' flags. It works great with two flags and is a real attention grabber. I've only used it a few times so we'll see how it holds up over time. One gripe is that while the connection clips do work well and are very simple, they do not rotate freely around the pole which leads to the flag wrapping around the pole sometime. A mechanism for that would add complexity and a higher price though. For the price you get a very simple flagpole that does what it's supposed to do.One thing that was annoying is that when I first ordered the tailgate package with the tire mount the 20' pole was $80, so I bought the 17.5' for $55 even thought I wanted the 20'. I bought a couple more flags and needed a second pole and at the time the 20' pole set dropped to $65, so I got that instead of another 17.5' which was still at $55. Then one week later the 20' dropped to $55 and I almost bought another one since I wanted two 20' in the first place. After some hesitation contemplating if I really needed to buy another one, the price went back up to $65 in the same day! Annoying Amazon and their price variations! I would give it 4.5 stars because of that, but that's not related to the product itself.
