I needed to get an electric can opener. I don't have the strength in my hands anymore to use a manual one. I liked that this one doesn't cut through the lid, no sharp edges anywhere. As to comments that the lids don't come off. As I was removing the device the magnet grabbed the lid, and it literally popped right off. Attractive style, easy to use, quiet, quick and on sale! What more could I ask for.

This is the best I’ve ever used. I’ve had a couple of different brands that were battery operated. (1 was good and 1 was awful.) This one is so quick and I’ve had no issues with binding up on cans or bogging down in power. I’ve used it several times so far and haven’t had to charge it other than the initial, first time. The lid pry thing is fantastic. It is much more functional than the magnet.

This little can opener is probably one of the best tools I have in my kitchen. I have a lot of arthritis in my hands in my arms and the can opener works just beautifully. I would highly recommend it for anyone who has any problem opening cans. The thing I was most concerned about was the fact that maybe it would leave the lids sharp and that is not the case it neither bottom, neither the can nor the lid is sharp I would recommend it for anyone even if you don’t have trouble opening a can.

This product works quite well, but I did not give it 5 stars because I have yet to experience the integrated magnet pulling the severed top away from the can. They either need to redesign the placement of the magnet, or perhaps even easier, use a stronger magnet-----in its current form, it's useless.

How this product has so many 5 star reviews boggles my mind. 3 out of 4 times using this Can Opener it doesn't actually work. Sometimes I have to try multiple times to get it to open a can. The can opener spins around the top of the can but doesn't actually open it, matter of fact, sometimes when this happens it just makes the top of the can sharp without removing it.

I had a couple of different brands, and the quality wasn't good. Too much noise and placement on the can was difficult. Opening six cans of green beans, each week, for our dogs, might have put a strain on them. This can opener is quieter and placement is easy.
