It’s really nice but discolored from the sun within a week.

This is a high quality, easy to install mailbox. It's roomy but has a nice, compact look on the wall. Plus it's truly a flush fit, so opening the lid will not nudge it away from the brick like some other mailboxes and the installation required no rubber spacers. It also has a nice, modern look and rubber stoppers on the lid make for a quieter close.

We spent a while looking for the right postbox. Something that was big enough to hold magazines, didn't have a newspaper section, wasn't too deep given the porch size, and contemporary without being too modern in appearance. This ticked all the boxes and was just over fifty pounds - a bargain vs other similar calibre post boxes. It arrived after about two weeks, was well packaged and was easy to install. My only gripe is that you could tell as soon as you opened it that it would need spacers to separate it from the wall as the lid hyperextends past the back wall of the post box. Without a spacer it scratches against the brickwork and takes the black paint off. Sadly this has already happened but luckily it was noticed before being in operation too long. I have now installed spacers (approx 4mm deep) and it works much better.

Everyone who sees it loves it. I love the saddle bag looking aspect. Great quality for a very reasonable price; arrived flawless. Good clean stainless steel. I added stick on foam on the mounts and spacer at the bottom so the lid did not scrape the stucco - and makes it sit more firmly and quietly. In my case it is in a covered area so I can not comment on waterproofing. Now there is some metal bonding spot along the bottom edge. Not particularly visible - but some purists might be annoyed. I wasn't.

It loses a star because the lid corner scraped the paint off my newly installed HardiePlank siding. To resolve the problem, I placed five washers behind each screw and then remounted the mailbox. I also agree with another reviewer that the mailbox is overpriced. For $100, I expected a much sturdier product. A fair price would have been $30 to $50. I love the design and it was least expensive mailbox that suited the contemporary style of my house so I kept it.

We were looking for something a little more interesting than the typical mailbox for our updated, but still basically colonial-style, home. This mailbox looks great, was very easy to install, and we love that it holds a lot of mail. It also feels solid and sturdy -- moreso than the 50s vintage one we are replacing (so much for things always being made better in the old days). It's pretty consistent with the quality of other Umbra products I've encountered -- i.e., pretty good quality. The one thing that surprised us -- and you can't really tell from the photos -- is that the curve on the lid of the mailbox dips down pretty dramatically. That has not interfered with the use of the mailbox, and we like the look, but it's just one of those things that you may not pick up from on-line photos. The only downside to the mailbox is that it's hard to figure out how to leave mail for your carrier to pick up. There is no little flag to notify the carrier. And because of the curved lip on the lid, any mail you try to secure with the lid is bent at a strange angle. But unless you leave a ton of mail for your carrier, I wouldn't let that stop you from purchasing this item.

I did a LOT of searching for a reasonably priced modern mailbox in brushed steel. I swear that this is the only one out there and it isn't all that reasonable. I mean really, its a couple of pieces of pressed metal. That said, it is big, attractive, and works perfectly with the design of my house. Several people have complained about this model rusting. I contacted the manufacturer with this concern before I bought it and they said that there was a batch of them that went on the market that didn't get one of the finishing steps that helps prevent rust. They said that this problem has been corrected and if I have any problem they will replace the mailbox, no questions asked. We plan to sell our house in the next year or two and this mailbox, along with new brushed steel house numbers and light fixture makes a great impression from the street and as you walk up the steps. It has truly transformed the look of my house.

Stylist mailbox, well constructed with sufficient inside capacity to handle most mailings.Installed in concert with new exterior front door. Did a lot of searching to find a box somewhat different then the norm that would fit our new decor. The brushed stainless steel cleans easily.Only negative comment would be that the provided mounting hardware was too lightweight. I bought and used heavier duty hardware.Update, 12/7. Mailbox still performing with no problems. It has handled a lot of items being stuffed in it with all the holiday flyers and small packages and has not displayed any problems!Still extremely pleased with mailbox.UPDATE - 9/24/2014. After three years in service mailbox continues to hold up well. My initial concern about it being too lightweight appears to have unwarranted. Also, while other reviewer's have noted problems with rust I have had none yet. Mailbox is protected by overhang of second floor of house but does still get the impact of the wind and rain.

I was a little apprehensive about ordering this mailbox because of some of the reviews by previous customers, but I need not have worried. I searched for a stylish brushed stainless steel mailbox for some time before finding this one on Amazon.com. I wanted a contemporary design with sufficient size and durable construction, and this beautiful Umbra Wall-Mount Mailbox fits the bill. I'm very pleased on all fronts: it looks great, was mailed in less time than previously indicated, was well-packaged and was easy to mount. A bonus was the fact that it qualified for Amazon's free shipping, which made the price the best I found for this product.
