This Car Battery Insulation Blanket, Car Battery Thermal Wrap Kit for Cold Weather, Universal Battery Heat Shield Cover, 40"x7", 1PC is OK. It just consists of a 40" X 7" strip with silvering on one side and 2mm felt on the other. There are other kits that include some felt for the bottom of the battery and even makes one side sticky and inclued a roller and some tape, but this kit does not. So, it seems the right materials, but not the best of the bunch.

This winter we had a few unusually cold days for our area and experienced some temperature related issues with the car battery. When I saw this battery insulation, I figured it might help since hearing it suggested by others.This battery blanket could not be simpler in design or use. It ships as a roll, taped to keep it tight. The material consists of two layers, an insulating felt and the outer, foil layer. It is easy to cut and manipulate.When I first started to install it, I thought that I would just kind of wrap it around the battery, tuck it in, and call it “job done” but it was not quite that simple.First, I realized that I really would need to keep it tight around the battery for it to be effective. So I took the battery out in order to wrap it around tightly and tape it to itself to keep it in place. During this process, I also taped the excess blanket material underneath, rather than cutting it to fit the height of the battery, to maximize coverage.Next, when I set it into the battery tray, I discovered that the clamps could not get a good bite on the battery through the blanket. So I then proceeded to cut small windows into the blanket so the clamps could reach the ledge at the bottom of the battery and hold it down.Once the modifications were in place, everything fit well and the blanket could do it’ job. We have not had any more super cold weather since installing, but at least we will be ready for next winter.All things considered, I think the use of this insulator is a wise precaution which I would recommend.

It's a nice blanket for batteries, I'm only giving 4 stars because I'm gonna have to go out and buy some foil tape because there is nothing supplied to secure it.

Definitely have used better, but...This is not a custom fit sleeve, it is just a roll of insulation.Highly recommend if you don't have one, it helps protect the battery from the engine heat, which is a huge problem on older cars.Might want some good tape to stick this on.

This is a very simple product. It is a length of thermal fabric. Exactly as described. Easy to install. You just wrap it around the battery and secure it. It will definitely help. No complaints. 5 stars.

I live in Arizona, it is like Hell in Summer where temperature peaks at 115 and higher. It is almost like Hell I guess. Everything takes a beating from the heat. Some things can be helped and others not so much. This battery blanket was purchased because it will be installed in a truck box on the A-frame of my RV that houses the Deep Cycle batteries. I have coated the inside with RV Roof Coating -elastomeric sealant in hopes of limiting the in box temperatures of my batteries.I did not find any scientific testing of these blankets and can only hope that they will be advantageous in my situation. I assume this is better than nothing at all. I will go with that. Assuming once again that this is an aid in the Hellish weather of Arizona, I will give this a 5 star rating.Installation is super simple-Cut to size, wrap and use the enclosed tape to finish the project. Nothing could be simpler. The thickness is only 3 mm and it seems thin but I guess anything thicker may be a problem. I have no means of monitoring the before temperatures but I will keep track of the temperature often.Lacking definite data, I will still provide a 5 star rating because no insulation is a zero.

A well priced battery insulation kit that is easy to cut and customize for my battery size.It looks just a few minutes to cut and install and appears to be made from a good quality insulation material that does not rip as easy as others I have used in the past, when trying to install in tight battery box projects.
