Your cart is empty. ● The supreform 5/8" steel J-Bolt Adjustable Barrel hinges provide full range of swing for gates and doors. Made of high quality steel. The threaded arm allows you to easily adjust the distance between gate and post. Each pair of J-bolt hinges can hold up to 400 lbs, making them an excellent choice for driveways and security gates.
● The total length of each hinge is 5", with the threaded arm measuring 4". Minimum distance between post and gate should be 1.5", to accommodate for the welding plate and barrel.
● Installation Instructions Weld the flat backing plate to the mounting post. If not already available, drill a hole through the gate frame big enough for the threaded bolt. Pass the bolt through, and secure with nuts. Hinges must be mounted with the thread arm at the top. If mounted upside down, the gate will fall.

I just built some new gates for the driveway. These were recommended by my fabricator. On some previous gates I had I used hinges that had no adjustment capability. These are good because they can easily adjust and I have had to adjust them a couple times already. They work perfectly for my needs.

These hinges work really well. My husband does a lot of welding and loves to make gates. He used these on a small metal gate he made. They welded on easily and work as advertised.

Pros:These are made of heavy steel.Ball bearing with grease zerk.WeldableCons:The weldable mounting plate is on the smaller side. I've got another kind that has a bigger contact area.The j-bolts could be longer. I knew the length when I ordered, but it's just a wish-list that they would make these about twice as long, but I will make it work.5 stars for build quality4 stars for value. Nearly $25 per hinge gets salty fast. Then again, it's probably competitive with others in the market.

While these are advertised as gate hinges, I am actually building a small fuel storage building to keep gasoline canisters and 20 lb. propane tanks in, and will be using the hinges for a reinforced custom door on the building.These are very good quality hinges, and will more than handle my project. They are rated to support a gate or door up to 400 pounds. Just be warned, these hinges have to be welded onto the gate... or in my case the door.
