I've owned probably 5 different stereo bars* over the years and sooner or later I run into a mic configuration that doesn't work--due to unconventional mic mounts, etc. Even though this one can accommodate 4 mics, I use it with 2. And--unlike all the other stereo bars I've owned--this one takes 'em all on and let's me get the mics in the right spots. It is what I would call medium duty, but if you take care of it, it should last a long time. I own 2 because there are 2 sets of stereo bar tasks I do often. My other stereo bars just sit in the drawer.*priced under $100

Great bar for the price. Mostly use it for location recording. There are a few design flaws that can be worked out though.

Great for pencil condenser mics or light, low-profile large diaphragm mics (e.g., AKG C414s) in stereo mic configurations. Adjustments are easy. No measured markings on bar or angle guides, that's up to you, but that really isn't so hard.Do not put up a pair of heavy LDCs on this; it is not all-metal construction, and there is some play in the materials with heavier loads.

Good. Holds my Shure Wireless mics. Will be purchasing another one.

This is a swell multi-mic bar. It will set you back a bit more than the rock bottom models, but is worth it.The Good:* Very sturdy. Metal bar and mic attachments.* The bar holding the mics has a hex-shaped cross-section. This means you needn't worry about things falling radially out of alignment when screws are loosened.* The adjustment discs on the bottom of the threads mean you can set any included angle between your mics, and they will stay put.* Very flexible setup options -- you can slide the four holders anywhere on the bar. You can slide the bar. You can pivot the angle of the bar at the stand. You can rotate (by removing and replacing) the holders into other orientations allowed by the hex bar shape. You should know:* There are no detents or pre-sets for angles and distances. If you need to be able to exactly reproduce a particular setup, this is not the stand for you.
