I used this to restore a hybrid bike; this crank modernized the bike and provided correct gear ratios. Runs true with no annoying wobble. Aluminum chainrings would make it lighter (and more expensive), but the steel rings should prove durable. After all, it's a mid-grade hybrid, not a racer.

Update: 2022-07-17Drive side crank manage to snap off while trying to accelerate from a stop. The chain rings then punctured the rear tire, causing a flat. I am lucky that I didn't get any more severe of an injury other than a contusion to my sit bones; it could've been worse had I been riding in denser traffic.Save yourself from a potential injury, save your cash, and just buy a crankset from a reputable manufacturer. Buy nice or buy twice. You cannot put a price on your own safety and mitigating injury. I wholeheartedly recommend that you avoid this crankset.---------------------------------------2022-02-19Previous Title: Cheap and light but poor durability and tolerancesPreface:-Had this crankset since April 2020. Ridden all year long for the last two years.Likes:-Cheap! Comes with everything you need to get rolling-Lighter than the square taper 48/38/28 I was replacing, saved almost a pound from the swap-The granny 22T chain ring is awesome for loaded steep hill climbs when my legs are tiredDislikes:-Bottom bracket isn't terribly well sealed. It lasted one year of riding before clunking and clicking, thus requiring replacement. What did it in was riding through the wet season.-Chainrings aren't terribly durable. They tend to wear out rather quickly, thus degrading shifting and pedalling performance surprisingly (chain starts skipping once the chain ring wears out too much). I've had to replace the middle chain ring already.-L crank arm doesn't have good tolerances with the spindle, it's a bit loose and slides/mounts on a bit too easily compared to OEM Shimano Hollowtech II cranks I have on another bike. As such, lately in the past couple months the L crank arm gradually slides off the spindle, requiring a remount every 1-2 weeks.Recommendation:-This is okay if you just need to get a bike running again. But if you do a lot of riding and ride through all conditions, you might be better off just saving up and getting something higher quality that will last longer, thus, saving more money in the long run rather than wasting time and money replacing parts.-I wouldn't buy this again or recommend any of my peers to purchase this product unless they were in a real pinch.

This crank is made out of weak materials. It is so weak that it came apart. I had it professionally installed and when I brought it back after it failed, the bike shop told me the materials were to weak and too soft to be used on a serious bike. They recommended I find a better quality crankset and have it installed. I have used this bike shop for years with great success and respect their judgement. If you are in need of a good crankset, avoid this product.

Installed this new crank and the left pedal snapped off after literally the first ride. The 2 allen bolts on the end of the pedal arm give a false sense of security. The pedal is actually held on to the crankset with a cheap plastic threaded cap which loosens up as you ride. When it falls out, so does the pedal. If you like taking long walks holding hands with your bike, by all means by this set-- otherwise don't bother. This set is garbage.

I purchased this crank set. And to be honest with you. It seems to be pretty decent. First thing it does not come with the bearing press screw on the non-drive side. But you can purchase it on Amazon for cheap. It's a 20 mm. If you choose to do so. If you choose to switch out the bottom bracket or need a new one. Most of the bottom brackets will work as long 24mm spindle. But here's where it gets tricky. if you do decide to put a better bottom bracket in you're going to have to use the plastic cups from bottom bracket that came with this set and put them in the better bottom bracket. Other than that the chain rings are completely removable. And yes you can make it a single speed if you want. The chain rings are made of steel. And the crank bolts that hold on the non-drive side crank arm are steel too. Most older style mountain bikes are a 68 shell. So yes this crank said will fit. if you're going to run a single chain ring you're probably going to use one spacer on the drive side and no spacers on the non-drive side. If you're going to use the triple crank set. Two spacers on the drive side and none on the non-drive side. I hope this information sums it up for everybody so they understand what they're getting.

Put on my GT Aggressor. Works with my 7 speed cassette. Shifting is a bit tough right now but that can all be adjusted when I get some more time.

Though it's not a Shimano, Sram, or FSA, this Crankset and BB combo is the best value on Amazon if you're looking to upgrade both components on your mountain bike. I actually converted this to a 2x setup by removing the outer ring and using some Raceface tab spacers with the original chainring bolts. The bolts are great too because they only require two allen keys to tighten or loosen instead of the normal bolts that require a special tool. I'm sure this would be good for a 1x set up too if you were to go that route.Pros: Based off Shimano's Hollowtech series; sealed bearings; crankset easily removeable for cleaning and servicingCons: Heavy; plastic left arm bolt; made in China; manufacturer doesn't have decades of experience and quality to their name

My commuter bike needed a new drive train. Plus the existing bottom bracket was cheap and I wanted to upgrade it. I ride in the winter and didn't want to invest a huge amount and found this Crankset. It was easy to install considering I had no idea what I was doing. This had less teeth than my old crankset, so I needed to make some adjustments to the derailer and now it rides so much smoother than my old crackset/bottom bracket. The cranks are longer and help for climbing hills.
