This is a nice pot - a fairly heavy gauge of stainless steel. It holds a gallon easily. I like that the rivets that attached handles do not go all the way through the metal - leaving the inside of the pot smooth and easy to clean. Thrilled with my choice!

The pot is a little light weight and the welding not as good as it could be, but the pots have served me well numerous times and still look like new. I would have to pay twice the price to get a real quality double boiler of this size. So if you are wealthy and money doesn't matter you can do better. If you want a solid, reliable double boiler for a reasonable price this is the one for you.

This was the worst pot I have ever had. I put it on the stove and within five minutes this horrible chemical smell was coming from the pot. I had to put it outside because even after removing it from the heat it was still offgasing. Filled the house with the smell and I was left using the very small double boiler I had already. So disappointed.

We purchased it to make Greek yogurt, (to heat the milk mixture to 185° and no more) works great and doesn't burn!We also use it for cooking all sorts of stuff and it is induction ready.Great pot and reasonably priced. We like it very much.

A large double boiler is so hard to find these days, especially in our small central Minnesota town. When I came across this online, I felt it would work perfectly for our family in making a specialty dish and tapioca. It is quality construction. For the reviewer who mentioned he felt there was "pitting" on the bottom; it could be salt residue left by his water softener or other water residue. All it takes is a little vinegar and water to clean it back to the shine it came with. Does not impact the looks or cooking ability. Would recommend it to friends.

I purchased this item for making soap. It's the perfect size because it's not too big or too small. It's large enough that I don't have to worry about splashing my counter tops (or myself) with lye or oils. I also purchased an induction hot plate to use with this item, but I'm pleased that it can accommodate both my electric stove top and the induction top. The material is sturdy and well constructed. I received my item very quickly and I'm very pleased with this transaction.
