This thing is almost TOO quiet! Was a direct replacement for my Broan fan that had a bearing going out. Seems like there's a little more airflow to the bathroom exhaust now. Installation was straight forward although it didn't come with an instructions. You can likely buy an complete new bathroom exhaust fan for the price of this one, but I decided to go with this as a direct replacement instead of having to install a new fan and possibly cut a larger hole in the ceiling.

This bath fan motor assembly is a compatible replacement for Broan Nutone model #684D. It’s the same size as the old assembly, so it fits perfectly, replacement was very easy. The motor operates at 80 CFM, but it’s fairly quiet.The air flow seems to be a little better than it was with the old fan. It easily holds a piece of toilet tissue up to the cover grate when testing the functionality, so I’m satisfied that it’s operating properly. At the current price of $67, I think it’s a fair value. Recommended!

A little louder than my old one. Doesn't have that slow soft start, just BAM, it's on. But the price was right and it works. Keeps bathroom drier.

I replaced a model 683-C. This was exactly same size. Just unplug ,remove old unit and new unit fit right in. Most work was just cleaning the decade's of gunk that accumulated.
