The scratching tips seem to be firm enough to hold up to the livestock. The holes are too big for the screws they come with, they pop right through when snugging the screws down enough to keep from sticking out and potentially cutting the livestock when they rub. A set of 2 really doesn't offer enough of a surface area to make a sufficient rubbing surface. I would suggest at least 4 mats, more likely 6.

Put up exactly as directions directed. 3 cows and 3 goats have access. With normal wear it's already wrecked in less than a month. They LOVED IT TO DEATH.
