I got this to replace a battery in an iPhone A1533, even though the model list didn't include that specific model and stated it would not work with other models. When looking up some of the cross-references for batteries, I saw that some of the models listed for this kit also included A1533, so I thought I'd give it a try. The kit itself is really nice and even includes the adhesive, which most kits do not. If you have done any phone battery replacements, you shouldn't have any problems with this one; it's more or less just like any of them. Installation isn't difficult if you already know how to take apart phones without breaking all the fragile ribbon cables, and there are plenty of videos that go through the process in great detail. The battery charges up fine and seems to last a long time under constant use. It fit perfectly and is definitely a great kit for the price.

Easy to install and does last better than the old one that I removed from the phone. I had to watch a YouTube video to know how exactly to do it...

I bought this for my old iPhone 6S that was having battery issues. The kit has (almost) everything you need to replace the battery: all the little specialty tools, a suction cup to remove the screen, new adhesive strips, and, of course, the battery. One thing the kit is missing is instructions. However, given how complicated the process is, nothing short of watching a video online about the replacement process would be good enough, so I don't fault them for not including paper instructions. At $18, this is so much cheaper than buying a new phone or having Apple repair it, it's worth giving it a shot. The battery seems to be just as good as a new Apple battery, but only time will tell how long it lasts. But if I can get another few years from this old phone, I'll be very happy.

This review is for two variations of this product - the battery replacement kits for iPhone 5s and iPhone 6. Both are very old phones now but even an old phone can still be used for a taking photos, watching videos, and doing other things - plus, letting the kiddies us it is a great way to keep their hands off your new expensive phone! Before I ordered either kit I looked online at you-know-who-tube to find videos of each phone's battery replacement process as it is basically unique to each model of phone. The iPhone 5s was by far the more difficult of the two as it involved more connectors and more screws to be removed and installed, some of which were difficult to get at. To be honest I'm relieved that I managed to get mine done without wrecking anything. The iPhone 6 was far easier. In either case you are dealing with teeny tiny almost microscopic screws; you need good light and steady hands to do either of these, the 5s again being considerably harder to do.Both kits come with new battery, necessary screwdrivers, pry tool and suction cup to pull the screen off of the case to get at the insides. They also come with new adhesive backing for the new battery, which is difficult along the lines of dealing with cling-film food wrap... the material wants to fight you and stick to itself. I was able to get by using just a small amount of the new adhesive tape; the batteries will hold just fine I'm sure.In later iPhones where it gives a 'battery health' rating (my iPhone 6 has that) that rating will not change when you replace the battery. However they do it, when Apple replaces the battery they reset that indicator, but when you do it yourself, it still says the same condition of health even with a new battery. The % of charge indicator however works fine and that is all you need to worry about. I have an app which actually checks the battery health and in both of the phones where I replaced the battery it shows 'excellent' and 100%.I could have taken the phones in to have the batteries replaced 'officially' but it would have cost more than the phones are worth - this was much more affordable and accomplished pretty much the same thing. The new batteries are working fine and I'm pleased with my decision to do the replacements. One last thing - replacing batteries in iPhones is a job best left to those who aren't afraid of such projects and maybe have experience doing so; if you lose a tiny screw or get a connector in wrong you might end up throwing the whole works into the trash (or recycling). I was successful at doing both of my iPhones, though, the 5s and the 6.

Arrived in perfect condition, opened up the phone, disconnected the old battery (but before removing it tested the new one), once I confirmed it worked I separated the old battery, cleaned and replaced the adhesive, and set the new battery in place. Sealed everything up.Please beware about separating your old battery before testing the new one. I know you never see this tip in any of the DIY writeups or videos, but not all batteries arrive working! Spare yourself the loss of phone for a few days while you wait for a replacement by checking that the new one works before you remove the old one. This replacement battery matches the original specifications exactly, so the upgraded in the title is likely referring to the 'smart cell technology', but I didn't really notice a secondary improvement outside of a new battery having full capacity again. I was hoping it would increase the capacity by 50% like some of the other upgraded options do, but no such luck.

This replacement battery took my iPhone 7 Plus back to a 100% performance stat which is excellent. The fit was perfect and operation has been flawless afterwards. The installation was reasonably easy for me, though I do have a technical background. I did have to get instructions from another location as there were none included and opening an iPhone is not a trivial task which if done incorrectly can damage the phone severely. There are lots of tutorials online so that's not a major disadvantage. For that reason I gave it 4-stars.

It doesn’t work for iPhone SE 2016(((At first, the battery charge showed 30%, after 10 minutes of charging 100%, and then after 5 minutes 1%. Then the phone turns off and repeats itself.

I replaced the battery in two iPhones today. This kit was used for one of them. It was reasonably priced and included the necessary tools [like a spudger.]I do recommend that you know a bit about how to do this because you can damage or kill your iPhone if you are not very careful. This kit was complete and testing after install showed the battery to be good.I can recommend this kit.
