It's holding up great. Side by side, it's obvious that this one will make a better seal, no question. But as we all know, only time will tell. As of now, I am the proud owner of a great running 545I that isn't leaking a drop of oil. I thought it was a myth. I've always been told that the only BMW's that don't leak oil, are the one's that no longer have any oil in them. And here I sit, triumphant, with a bald eagle riding on my shoulder, bird crap running down my back, fireworks, and a BMW with a n62 motor that doesn't leak a drop of oil. I don't care what anybody tells you, if you're about to replace this gasket for your first time in the 545I with the n62 motor, make sure you have the help of someone who can think outside the box when it comes to roadblocks. It's not an easy job at all, I couldn't have done it without my brother, and that's a fact. It can be done yourself, but I would absolutely classify this fix as advanced, if not expert. This gasket really reassured me that I chose the right one, because I don't ever want to mess with that thing again. It's clear when looking it how the shape alone makes it stronger where the original gasket was weakest. Why they aren't all made like this is beyond me.

Not a bad part. Really does the trick. But if you have an oil cooler you'll need the gasket with the line in the middle and not this one. Make sure to buy the exact look-alike gasket. Unfortunately, I bought this and held it too long before making the repair so couldn't return it.
