Replaced a hard plastic pool pump waste water exhaust pipe used during backwashing. I liked the idea of winding it up after use and putting out if site, rather than the unsightly fixed plastic pipe which could not be re-directed.ProsThe set-up was easy. A Jubilee clip around the near end of the hose onto to the pump exhaust.Being black it blended in better than white plastic pipeBeing flexible it could go anywhere and everywhere I wanted to run the waterConsPerhaps if I had put the hose away after each use as planned then it would have lasted.In the Australian sun it lasted a year before splittingBecause it was flexible it was prone to kicking and collapsing

This is so much thicker than the first hose the pool company gave me (that one split on the sides). The thickness and quality is immediately obvious. This thing will last and is worth the few extra dollars.

2" was tight to get onto the hose connector, but a little lubricant helped. A quality hose clamp is included. There were no leaks, and the length made it easy to push my pool wash out into the woods.

Bought this house for my pool. It's very thick. Only thing I don't like is that it holds water. The hose is so thick water doesn't exit the hose completely once you stop pumping out the water.

I will not be needing a new backwash hose for a long time. This Hose is amazing !!!I took the suggestion from another reviewer and instead of leaving it laying on the hot floor with the sun hitting it all the time. I bought a plastic garden hose hanger and have it hung on it. Take a few minutes to wrap it back up like the picture but I believe this will help it last even longer.- The hose is heavier than the cheap blue backwash hoses- The hose seems to have some type of weave built into the rubber of the hose making it sturdier- I purchased the 50' foot hose and the hose is just a tad over 50' so seller is selling spot on.- The hose did fit over a 2" fitting I had but just barely. My fitting though is not a 2" schedule 40 PVC but a thinner wall 2" fitting maybe that's why. You mileage may vary.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
