This is a USB 2.0 port Bluetooth adapter. It probably works best when not plugged into a USB3 port, FYI. My Win10 desktop recognized the dongle immediately, and I did not have to use the included mini-dvd drive to install the drivers. Range is average, or perhaps a little less, but that's to be expected for such a low-profile usb dongle. It works with my headsets and mouse, and that's all I really needed it for.

If it were not for the fact that this Bluetooth 5.4 adapter works well and solved an ongoing issue with a much older Bluetooth adapter built in to my motherboard, I would only give this product a 2 star rating for the misleading advertising on Amazon.Their Amazon listing clearly states that this adapter is Plug and Play - it is NOT!! This is misleading and deceptive to inexperienced users who are unable to go through what I had to go through to get this device to work.They say it’s Plug and Play, yet they include a mini CD with the drivers because Windows does not have the drivers in their data base, meaning this vendor has either not submitted their drivers to Microsoft for certification or, that process has not yet completed.If you have a computer that has no Bluetooth adapter at all, this will install relatively easy for you if you follow their instructions and use the mini CD to install the drivers manually. That is still NOT Plug and Play.However, if your computer already has a built-in Bluetooth adapter, you will need to disable that adapter in Windows Device Manager BEFORE plugging in this adapter. If your existing Bluetooth adapter has Bluetooth devices connected to it, you may not be able to easily disable it and then will have to go through a complex dance routine with this adapter, PC reboots, and then disabling of your adapter to make this adapter work.The good news is that once installed, this adapter works great.I cannot recommend this product at this time for inexperienced users but would for anyone who know how to deal with these kinds of issues.

Software installation was required from a mini-CD. Luckily my PC had a drive that supported this format.Once installed, I was able to easily pair a Bluetooth keyboard with my PC.

I bought this so I could use my blue tooth head phones on my older computer. My computer acknowledged it and then nothing, it would not pair up with any of my blue tooth speakers. My speakers work fine with my other blue tooth devices, so the devices themselves are not the issue; it is this adapter.

I got this for two reasons. The first reason was to use this on my work computer that you can not change settings on but still allows things like Bluetooth mouse or keyboard. The second reason (this is just to see if it worked) was on a PlayStation 5. Now the ps5 did not support the device but this is not why I only gave two stars. The issue is that this is listed as a plug and play yet you have to download software to the computer to use it. If I can’t access certain settings, there is no way I can download. The second issue is that the download disk is a mini disk. Most laptops today don’t even have a disk tray let alone be able to put this in the computer unless it had a disk tray that came out. There is also no ability to force the usb to enter into pairing mode manually so you have to do it through settings.

I have been using an older version of a blue tooth dongle for some time and decided to upgrade to this to speed up transfers of photos from my phone to my desktop computer (which doesn't have internal blue tooth. This dongle cut transfer times by about a third. Works as it's supposed to and was directly plug-and-play with easy installation.

I bought this adapter for one purpose - to play games at night without needing a wired headset, and without waking up the family through the use of speakers. I pair this with Bose QuietComfort headphones and it works well. I bought a cheaper adapter from Temu but found it constantly cut out or reduced audio quality.Decided to invest in this adapter instead. It worked fine on Windows 11. It was plug and play for me and I didn't need to use the CD that came with it. Regardless, my one wish is they would provide a link to the drivers here, because I wouldn't want to have to dig out an old external CD drive, and I imagine a lot of people don't even have them nowadays.

Bought this for a new computer that for some dumb reason doesn't have bluetooth. I plugged it into the Windows 11 machine and it worked right away! Not much else to say about it. It was inexpensive and comparable to similar items. Overall, recommend!
