The scanner works well for quick logins with Windows Hello. It's portable and easy to set up, though it may occasionally take a second try to match fingerprints.

Plugged it into the USB hub attached to my HP Pavilion laptop (Windows 11), and followed the prompts in Settings for setting up fingerprint sign-in. Upon the next login, it immediately worked. It's pretty basic, and I had no issues at all, so gonna give it 5 stars.

This biometric fingerprint security scanner for your computer works quite well. It adds another layer of security to my computer and my files as there are too many people around while I am typing in my password.I really like that I can enter up to 10 fingerprints per user on this dongle. This is great for me as I am always cutting my hands in my line of work. The dongle is a bit too small for my liking though as it is easy to misplace and there is no way to attach a lanyard to it.

This was a little hard to set up. Spent a lot of time reading about Windows Hello. It doesn’t come with instructions but just points to existing literature. I tried to get a reader that was blue-tooth and mounted but it was a scanner in the midst of a Google-searched list of fingerprint readers. All of them are similar to this - pretty basic. I was going to plug it into a USB extension cable but something didn’t work so I set it up in a USB multiport.

This dongle was effortless to set up. all I had to do was plug it in, and then go to Windows settings and set it up. I did have a minor issue with Windows 11, where it wouldn't let me set up the reader, but a reboot fixed it. The dongle is a bit big for my liking and sticks out too far on a laptop for me to comfortably leave it in permanently. I personally prefer the design where the sensor is on the end of the dongle instead of the side, since it makes it about half the length.
