This is a perfect serial adapter for all your DIY projects. The cable comes pre spliced and tinned making it a snap to solder up and route the cabling. It has a 6ft cable that's sealed and heavy duty. Perfect industrial communication repairs, UAV's, or arcades. Uses a FT232 chip and standard FTDI drivers. Highly Recommended!

This cable is identical to the FTDI USB-RS485-WE-1800-BT that you can buy from Mouser or Digikey. When comparing the two I forgot which came from Mouser and which came from Amazon. They are absolutely the same cable. The cable itself works as expected. Comes with a diagram for the wire functions so you don't have to look for the datasheet.
