TLDR: Doesn’t work at all – This this is complete trash.While the strobe light I received looks like the product photos, I had immediate concerns just by picking it up because of how lightweight it was. Felt almost hollow and rattled when moved. I decided I would go ahead and light it off now, then buy another if it worked as intended. It didn’t.Disclaimer: I’ve never used a strobe like this, but seeing as how it doesn’t include any instructions and it’s meant to be used in an emergency, and while drowning, I assumed it would be incredibly easy to use. Perhaps I don’t know what I’m doing, but if I couldn’t get this thing to work at home, what are the odds I could figure it out while stranded in the ocean and trying to flag down rescue.The only part that you could interact with is the bottom of the light which had the pull ring. There were no other moving parts.After pulling that ring, the bottom of the light came off, but nothing happened. It occurred to me that the internal battery might require water to use. I submerged it in water, but still nothing happened. Perhaps it only works in salt water – required and electrolyte of some sort? But the description doesn’t say it’s non-functional in fresh water, so this seems unlikely.After 30 min of no light at all, I decided to take this apart and see what was up. Not sure what type of “battery” this is supposed to have, but it looks very home made and was some sort of green fluid after being in the water. Please see attached photos.Conclusion: This is complete trash. Do not buy this. I can only try to imagine what it would be like to be in a life or death situation, floating at sea and needing rescue, only to learn that your emergency strobe was a scam.

I got this to keep in my hiking pack as an emergency strobe in a worst case scenario. This is one of the options listed in the product description and shown in the pictures.Product arrived and I opened it up, and found no instructions, so I checked the product description, and the only thing I could find was that the strobe is water activated. So I tried submerging the strobe in water, cold and hot, nothing. No lights or anything.Very disappointed in the inability of the product to work and the lack of instructions to help guide you to getting the product to operate.
