I bought another mattress cover with a similar description but returned it because of it not fitting on the bed securely. This product is perfect. The quality is so much better and it was easy to put in place. The generous amount side material wraps deep around and under the mattress and good elastic makes the fit snug. I am very pleased with this protector and would definitely recommend it.

I have a toddler who will occasionally sleep with me in my king-sized bed and occasionally the diaper of said toddler will leak. “Pee stains are great”, said no one ever.I always have a full zippered encasement on that’s also waterproof, but it’s SUCH a hassle to change and wash. So I bought this fitted option to go over that.It’s really soft material on the top that acts as a first level of absorbency and the backing is a very flexible and 100% silent vinyl-like material. I’m not even sure how to describe it. The pockets are VERY deep and have a lot of strong elastic on the corners that make for an incredibly secure fit. We have a 12 inch mattress, for reference. Lots of stretch in the sides, so I can see this conforming to any thickness of mattress. Note: the sides are not waterproof at all, they’re all stretch instead.It works great for us on preventing leakage below. The absorbent top diffuses the wetness and the backing prevents it from going through. Our accidents are not the full-blown-empty-your-entire-bladder type. They are more like the outside of the toddler’s diaper will become totally soaked at some time during the night and if you squeeze it wetness would drip out. It still leaves a huge wet spot, but it’s not a large volume of liquid.I’ve washed this at least a dozen times so far due to accidents. I sprinkle baking soda on top of the offending odor and wetness, throw it in the wash with a small amount of detergent and wash warm/cold. I usually wash it with the offending sheet that was on the bed as well (also utopia bedding, soooo soft). Then I dry it on low, sometimes with a few dry towels if I’m not drying the sheet along with it. It takes FOREVER to dry because the top is so absorbent and comes out of the wash soaking wet. I guess that’s a bit of a testament to how this works. The dry time is the only thing I’m not crazy about, but it doesn’t detract from the actual product. Oh, and because of the super deep pockets, it’ll get really tangled up within itself and becomes a huge ball that has to be readjusted to dry properly. That’s not so great either. The top has become a bit softer throughout all of the washings/dryings and the backing shows no sign of wear whatsoever.Totally recommend as a regular mattress pad in a situation like mine, or just in general for an older child to an adult that would have no chance of having a huge wet the bed moment. I don’t know if it could stand up to that volume of liquid, just because I don’t know. It could, it could not. I personally wouldn’t trust it and we have a different cover on the toddler’s bed that we know for sure is 100% waterproof no matter what happens.
