Purchased this to add to my Desert Shield impression. The goggles look brand new. Shiny box with no shelf or storage wear. Came with extra tinted lens and instructions sheet. These goggles are for sun, wind and dust only. The lenses are not ballistic. I would not advise using this as a form of eye protection unless the ballistic lenses are installed.Item was dated 1974 but looks brand new.

**Important** The listing says nothing about ballistic lenses, these DO NOT come with the ballistic lenses as noted by one reviewer. Instead they come with the class 2 set of lenses, clear and smoke. The goggles fit well and are comfy with very little to no fogging and I'm used to having goggles fog heavily. I have a large head and wearing goggles for extended periods can be wearisome, but these seem to fit nicely. If you're looking for cheap ballistic goggles go to Rothco's site. They have the same GI goggles listed with the ballistic lenses for about 10-15 dollars more which in my opinion is well worth it.

When you take these out of the box and place them on your head, you are transformed into a person wearing goggles. But not just any goggles mind you, the same goggles our G.I.'s wear, complete with instruction sheet and shaded lens. I use these goggles when I'm wearing a half helmet while motorcycle riding and they are perfect for it. Don't fog very much and they have a nice wide range of vision. I question their durability and even in the instructions they say they are prone to scratching, so be careful. For my use, they work perfectly.

Expensive Junk. I have ordered 1 pair. It seemed fine at first. It came with a clear and a gray lens. The workmanship seemed sub-par, but I thought it was fair for the price. The reviews were all very high, so I bought 5 more pairs. These 5 pairs came with dark green and dark brown lenses. Very difficult to see anything except perhaps in snow covered environment or the dessert. I kept these for future emergencies and most of the 6 pairs had little or no use. These were Ordered on November 10, 2012 and 5 pairs Ordered on January 29, 2013After 2 years, the sponge that goes around the googles that sits on your face started coming off of the goggles. The the colored film ( I didn't realize the lenses were covered in film), started shredding and coming off both inside and the outside. This is unhygienic and potentially dangerous since they can go in your eyes. I regret ordering these junk and urge you to get other goggles. I am still looking for a decent pair of "sun, wind and dust" goggles.-------------------- Update ------------------------I noticed other reviewers saying that these are mil spec and that they used them in the military. I was not in the military. So I cannot say whether these goggles are milspec or not. However, I can definitely say that we are not doing our men and women in the armed services any favor with these goggles. I wouldn't play paintball with them.I also neglected to mention in my original review that the sponge that sits on your face (which comes off), is coated with black paint/coating. Well, these break and decompose into tiny confetti like fragments. These also get in your eyes.I will upload pictures of these shortly.

Bought these for use with an old vintage motorcycle and half helmet. Seemed like they might be too big at first (as they stick out a bit), but with the helmet they look really good. I like that my glasses fit inside the goggles. They're comfortable, sturdy, and seal well. I also like that BOTH lenses are thicker, ballistic "class 4" polycarbonate that seems like it would protect against pebbles or small road projectiles very well. The price is great considering that you get two ballistic lenses. Some have mentioned that the lenses may "scratch easily." The package notes that they scratch more easily _than glass_. They're polycarbonate, not glass, so that's to be expected; but that doesn't mean they'll necessarily scratch easily if cared for. They also won't shatter like glass. It's a worthwhile tradeoff. At the end of the day, considering that I'm repurposing something designed for battlefield use and that has served its intended purpose admirably for decades, I'm pleased that I got a nice alternate use for a reasonable price. In that context, to fault their design would be like blaming a combat knife for not being a better butter knife. I'm very happy with the purchase.

I commercially mow for a living. When its dry it gets super dusty, I am use to wearing safety glasses to protect my eyes from flying objects but dirt, dust, and leaf particles would still manage to find a way into my eyes. I bought these googles in hopes of keeping my eyes clean and safe, and I have to say they work wonders, as far as I can tell nothing's getting to my eyes. One thing I was worried about was how hot these would be in the summer and if they would fog up when it was cooler and so far neither of these worries have been a non issue. The googles have breathing holes in the top and bottom(still covered by a mesh to keep stuff out) these holes do wonders to let air in when it's warm and heat out when it's cold, keeping the googles from fogging.Besides that all I can say is the lenses are easy to change out, just takes about 10 seconds, which is good working outside when lighting conditions can change relatively quick

Good motorcycle glasses work just as well and are a lot less bulky. These look very military. They are bulky. It is a small hassle to change the lenses. If you are not doing serious mining or industrial work they are not worth the trouble. If you are riding a tractor or doing home construction, I would stick with motorcycle glasses.
