Picture and description indicates a "white" paddle. It is not white, it's more of a very, very, very light beige. The paddle is sturdy and thick (can't tell if there's an inner core even when I hold it up to the light). One of the spoons has a very tiny piece notched out on the spoon end, not sure if it will become bigger after using it for a while - time will tell. I will still use it for scooping rice out of my non-stick rice pot. I was really hoping to get a "white" rice paddle.
