I tried two of these three taps. Neither would cut anything at all in a lower control arm. These might work with something softer like aluminum but are definitely not good for steel. I don't tried a more expensive tap with no problem.

The uhaul worker stripped the threads on two weldnuts on the car chassis when tightening two M12 bolts on a hitch installation. Drilled with 33/64 and tapped with one of these. Went slowly, it's M14 so it cuts in deep threads, not easy. But it all went well and the new threads were good. New M14 bolts and day was saved, new hitch secure.

I only used them on aluminum and they worked flawlessly. Had I used them on steel or had them longer might well have given them 5 stars. Quality seems good. They worked very well and priced very fairly.

I used these last night to clean up some bolt holes that were mucked up with rust. They did a great job for that and I am expecting them to work well when I get the new holes drilled on my old tractor.

These worked perfect and at a great price. Could not find this size locally and Amazon comes through! Cutting threads with these was simple and effective. Used cutting oil and drilled a 12mm pilot hole.
