I knew before I ordered that the pins were shorter than I needed. I had to solder extensions onto the pins before I could add them my board. I found that when I soldered the wires on the pins using the holes in the rivets that it somehow destroyed the connection to the resistance strip. I have done this on other pots and had no problem. I was able to wrap the wire around the lowest part of the Pot's pins furthest away from the rivet at the top and then had no problem... Just be careful when soldering not to apply too much heat.

Worked OK for a bit. However, it seems like putting too much strain on the actuator shaft can cause the signal to become permanently jittery or noisy. Be careful if you're using this for something like angle detection that needs a relatively noise-free signal.
