This was the most effective recoil spring I’ve ever purchased. It recoiled my drill press incredibly well. I was concerned that I would never be able to get my drill to recoil the way it did when I was younger and the mere thought of drilling would cause it to recoil, but this replacement spring fixed all of that! I feel like I’m 18 again and drilling anything and everything as effectively as I ever did because I can recoil so quickly.

The spring on my Delta DP300 broke suddenly and so I went looking for a replacement. This part works great. No numbers on the springs so it's hard to find the right part, but after measuring dimensions this seemed like it would work.I'd never done this repair before, and encountered one potential issue: the spring as shipped is under considerable tension. You need to get the spring into the holder BEFORE releasing the tension by untwisting the wire it's bound with. If you release the tension first, you may not be able to get it into the holder.

I didnt do much research to figure out what size i needed and when I received it, the spring was a lot shorter than the one in my 15" craftsman floor drill. I was able to put this in and wind it up enough to work but I anticipate it will fail sooner due to having a greater amount of stress.
