Just toooo cheap. The wire entry is a mess. As you untighten the screws to insert your (lamp) wires, the way too tiny screws and the plastic containing surround pop out and you realize they are part of the switch and have to work together…X4 - 2 for each side/hot & neutral and they have to re-fit together in perfect fashion and conduct 110 live AC about a 1/16 th of an inch from one another.?really bad design and damn near impossible to keep in their cheapness plastic badly designed containment system. Threw away. Ordered a dimmer /switch combo that was complete and all had to do was install a male Edison on the lamp wire and plug it in. My fault. I’ve been running my own biz installing large and small AV systems for 40 years- way past diy but not good enough for bad design and cheap potential hot to common arcing. No way to know till you order it and waste 9$.🙃😮🥴just say n0. . .

I initially had difficulty trying to wire the switch by wrapping the lamp wire around the exposed screw. I realized the wire needs to be secured under the metal piece below the screw, which worked quickly and securely. The switch works as I hoped it would. Instructions would have been helpful. However the product, itself, is excellent.

The metal switch parts are not securely attached and very small. The plastic body is warped. One of the two switch contacts could not work due to warpage of the body. The wire securing screws are very difficult to use while attaching wire since they are so small.

A previous reviewers photo was very helpful to clarify installation. Even on line instructions would have been helpful. When you strip the insulation off don't expose much more than 3/8" of wire, specially if it's braided wire. Solid you can get away with slightly longer wire exposure. Any more will make it that much more difficult to negotiate the small amount of space and the very small ports where the wires will go in. Personally I would have preferred a flat foot switch vs the angled version the unit has, but that's just me. They could have designed the foot switch to be a little bigger to make installation easier...it certainly would not have added that much more to the cost of the unit.

I bought this switch so my dog could learn how to turn on a table lamp. It didn’t work as I had hoped because it’s mechanism is too stiff. My dog wasn’t generating enough force to flip the switch. So, the switch didn’t work for me; but, it is reasonably study and was easy to wire. I think it would work well when activated by stepping on it.

Was initially hesitant to order this floor switch because there were no reviews, on-line instructions and it is a bit more expensive than the round button options. But decided to give it a try because I liked the lower profile option. This is a snap for any diyer. The most challenging part is to feed the bare wire ends into the small terminal ports. But once in, it clamps down securely. And I'm hoping the rocker arm construction will be more durable than the round button spring type. No instructions included, but my picture makes it obvious how it should be assembled.
