I tried this fin in waves with a lot of kelp. It didn't get hung up as much as my longer fins with less rake. The board felt a little looser but not drastically so. I like the wide base. I can still get a lot of drive down the line even with a shorter fin. Usually I ride my 8' board with an 8" single fin. Surprisingly, this fin provides almost the same stability and a little more drive.

I bought this when my local lake became overgrown with vegetation. Now I can paddle over think clumps without being jerked to a stop or trailing lots of weeds behind me. Buy this, you won’t regret it.
