Easy playing mouthpiece, but not the sound I was looking for. There is a distinct sound difference between round chambered mouthpieces, like this Vandoren, and square chambered mouthpieces, like the Selmer S80. For the classical work I am doing, I felt the Vandoren lacked a certain edge that I liked with the S80. The S80 came out in the 1980's when Selmer changed the bore of the saxophones with the Super Action 80 series. The square chamber seems to work better with this bore. The round chambered mouthpieces, like the Vandoren, seem better suited to the older bore horns, of the Mark VI vintage. So while it's not the mouthpiece I was looking for, it IS a very good mouthpiece. Just shows that you need to try mouthpieces out before purchasing them.

A very good mouth piece for the intermediate player. Good control with the freedom to fake notes. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED IT. Everybody is different, and mouthpieces have to be tried in a store to find the right fit. Once you find your piece, Amazon is a great price.
