I've been a fan of using a large Sierra cup as a bowl for eating while backpacking and camping for many years. I've been on the lookout for a larger Sierra cup that was lighter weight than my older stainless steel Sierra cups. I discovered this titanium cup and decided to give it a try. I was a bit worried because one of the prior reviews stated that the folding handle wasn't very strong and had caused that problems for them. I suspected that I knew what the problem may have been caused by, and that it may not have been an issue if the cup was used differently. Sure enough, I found that the Vargo brand titanium Sierra cup works very well! It is lightweight, plenty strong, and works very well as a bowl. I found the folding handle to be adequately strong, and I have not had it fail on me. I think that the prior reviewer that had the handle issues likely did not slide the little metal handle spreader/strut down toward the cup after having extended the handle. Doing this greatly increases the strength of the handle where it articulates with the hinge.

Great concept, much more flexible than most pots used for boiling. Tried cooking in it a couple times, and lost the contents in the fire both times when the handle slipped out of the clips. Same shape with a separate pot holder would be the way to go
