As long as your not yanking deck nails up (which is why I bought it,) it works OK. You can use a piece of pipe as an extender which will render it useful. You can get the nail started and use a crow bar to pull the nail.

This thing was great for removing small nails and staples. Angles helped with leverage. Small size does not take up much room in the bag of tools.

Bought it for a friend because he was always using mine...Beat the crap out of it getting nails out of stuff and it keeps going.
