  • TiCN has excellent adhesion and edge strength, excellent performance to crater wear and flank wear, which is necessary for continuous automatic machining
  • The substrate is carbide alloy in gradient distribution, it is rough in the surface and hard internally, which can provide excellent resistance to anti-plastic deformation and roughness required for cutting at high speed.

These are well made in form and fit, they don't chip or crack the cutting edge.They are average quality and fit my sherline tool

I normally go with the TiN coated or HSS for 6061, but I have some harder steel that likes to chip my inserts that have a larger contact radius. I heard good things about TiCN for use with harder steels, so I picked these up to find out if a cheaper set would have similar performance, so far I am not disappointed. The TiCN coating appears to be fairly thick, I didn't notice any wear or fading, though I kept the cuts very light.
