About this item

  • ▼ 【Insulation resistance testing supports three test voltages】 The VC60B Insulation Resistance Tester offers three testing voltage options (250V, 500V, and 1000V DC) to measure insulation resistance from 0.1MΩ to 2GΩ with ±4% accuracy. It provides precise insulation resistance values rather than just displaying a range, ensuring more detailed results. this meter has a wide range of applications and is suitable for measuring the insulation resistance of various electrical equipment and insulating materials, such as transformers, electrical appliances, cables, and motors.
  • ▼ 【Multi-functional,Measuring 750V AC voltage】 Not only does it provide precise insulation resistance readings, but it can also measure AC voltage up to 750V with an accuracy of ±1.0%.The 1999-count display delivers accurate readings, making it an indispensable tool for both insulation and voltage testing.
  • ▼ 【High-voltage and short-circuit buzzer alarm for safe testing】 This handheld megohmmeter is equipped with both high-voltage and short-circuit buzzer alarms, as well as high-voltage circuit protection. It ensures safe and reliable insulation resistance testing.Especially in cases such as testing heating cables and electrical wires.
  • ▼ 【Data hold function simplifies recording without retesting】 The data hold function allows you to freeze the current reading on the display for easy recording. Please rest assured, the data hold function is not available during insulation resistance measurement.
  • ▼【Portable and Compact】With dimensions of 7.28 x 4.53 x 2.56 inches and a weight of 1.1 pounds, the VC60B is portable and easy to use and convenient to maasure . Its lightweight design makes it suitable for both professional and DIY applications,Therefore VC60b is an excellent meter tester designed for testing the insulation of various electrical systems.

I ordered and received the "VC60B Insulation Resistance Tester,SKYCENX Megohmmeter Megaohm Meter, with 250V/500V/1000V Test Voltage Testing,Insulation Resistance IR 0.1MΩ~2GΩ and Measure 750V AC Voltage,Testing Wiring Insulation"As the title says... it works. The product has a super budget look, feel, and performance to it. Professional products are built far better than this, and have accurate circutry that can be calibrated. This one of course has none of those features.Like another reviewer pointed out, even the battery compartment doesn't match the number of batteries it takes (8-battery compartment, but needs 6 batteries all in series, so even if the two unused compartments would suggest a place to hold extra batteries, if battery level drops below useful voltages, replacing just two won't help much.I was able to get readings in the 800Mohm range out of semi-conductive static pads which seemed a bit high, but acceptable. If you need one of these insulation resistance meters and you are on a serious budget, this may work. However, I wouldn't trust it for accuracy- just to show whether your wire isn't carbonized somewhere down the length or water hasn't saturated it. This meter will definately warn you about such issues if you know how to read it.It's pretty big and won't hold up if dropped, at least I wouldn't trust it to stay together. It is easy to use however.I can only recommend it for getting to know Insulated wire resistance on a budget.

I'll be honest, I got this just becasue I wanted to see what one can get for less than $50 in the way of a Megger insulation tester. So, does it work?Yes. Thats the bottom line. It's the nuances that are the issue.Firstly, if you are a hobbyist and just want to check for insulation resistance, this will suit your needs. It will test three different voltages and give you a reading. As a hobbyist, thats probably all you need. You'll be able to put up with the 1000V probes that honestly don't look liike they are rated to 1000V.You'll be able to put up with the aligator clips that are terrible to use when plugged into the supplied probes. You'll say to yourself, well, I got this for less than $50 so it's great. You'd be right too. Just don't convince yourself this is also a proffessional tool.If you want this for work. Then we have a completely different issue. THis is not for you. You'll be laughed at when anyone looks at the probes and their claim of 1000V. Same as the aligator clips and the way they connect. They don't fit in the meter securely either. They wobble like they are loose. The clips fall off the end of the probe easily. Not what you want on a meter that can have 1000V applied constantly with the twist of a dial. The meter uses 6 batteries (supplied) even though the case seems to have been designed for 8. The other strip has no connections. The screw holding the battery cover is not captive. It's my one big complaint for tools that are meant fo industry. Losing a screw on a factory floor or job site is something that can easily be designed out cheaply. If it's not done, then they really don't understand field usage at all.So this is a great entry level for hobbyists tool, but cannot and should not be considered as a professional tool. The meter does generate high voltages, but I didn't bother testing it to see how it conforms to actual specs because it would not be accepted as a reference tool anyway. Great go no go tool for the average hobbyist and thats it. But, it is cheap.
