They say not to mount heavy lenses to this thing and I can see why. I currently have it attached to a sigma 150-600mm sports lens and I feel like I need to be careful how I handle this setup. Once it's in my hands and in the right position it's fine but I definitely recommend picking up your camera by the handle on the camera body itself first and then holding it with one hand on the pistol grip and the other on the front of the lens. I bought this so I could have better stability when shooting wildlife photos from my kayak and it definitely seems to help with that. I just wish this thing was made of metal or aluminum and had a buttstock so I could hold it like a rifle. I feel like that would give me even more stability and better aim. If you're using a lightweight setup I don't think you'll have any issues with this grip but if you plan on using heavier lens and camera setups just make sure you handle it carefully

With Cable P/N:FE-2MM-01MM (1.5ft 2.5mm SLIM Mini Stereo TRS Plug Male/Male Cable, Black), from MyCabeMart. com, it works great with my Olympus OM-D, EM1 Mark II. I lost the use of my right hand, and this is the best solution that I have found! I also did the mod to remove the interfering LOCK button. I still need to tape over the hole.

Works with a Sony. It makes an A5100 kind of feel like a narrow guage film camera with no eye finder. Didn't work for video actuation, only worked for photo shutter with recommended connection cable.

I am using this with a Canon 5D Mark II and the Canon EF 100-400mm lens mounted to a Neewer Ball Head and then the pistol grip using the remote cable for my camera. As was mentioned in an earlier review, the lock button is a serious problem. I can't see any use for it at all. Mine sticks. You accidentally bump it and it fires forever. My solution was to pry the handle open enough to pull the button out with needle nose pliers, close it back up, and put a piece of electrical tape over the resulting hole. Works great now.

I purchased this for use with a flash instead of a camera, and it works great.

My right hand is impaired, and often I can’t find the shutter release by feel.. This little gem solves that problem. Highly recommended.

Not sure why they added a lock button as nobody I know wants to lock the shutter in continuous firing. Both my BIL & I had the same thing happen. The lock button somehow freezes in the On position without using it.After opening the grip up, I noted the trigger operated contacts seem to be decent with adequate spacing. My solution was to just clip the leads going to the lock button/switch as they are just in parallel with the trigger connections. Will have to try it out in the field again.
