An excellent kickstand for a bike. The scissor leg design folds it back compactly and neatly on the non-drive side. I had to get it installed at a bike shop as my frame unfortunately had narrow and tricky clearances and no built-in mount for the bolt, though that is more the fault of the frame than the kickstand. After about a year of use in summer, fall, and winter conditions, the finish on the bare metal has gotten a bit spackled, but this is to be expected. Likewise, the scissor mechanism has developed some play but overall it remains sturdy when folded down - just don't *keep* it folded down and under load constantly, as this may aggravate the issue. The weight of my bike and its accoutrements may also be a factor and lighter frames may never be affected the same way.

It fits around big mountain bike tires!!! The Pletcher double kick stand would not work so I got this.Without a built-in kickstand mount frame you'll need to make your own top and bottom plates to bridge the chain stays. That will solve the problem if the chain stays are too far apart (likely yes). Use 1/4" 1 x 12" alum bars and cut to a templates. You'll also need to find the Pletscher Kickstand Plate Adapter because it has the two plastic frame adapters with plastic studs that hold them in place. Order this and it will make sense.Then... spray paint it with flat black primer! Georgeous and works perfectly! The velcro strap will keep it quiet while you are bombing around in the wilderness.

If you've got a town or touring bike and need a stable way to park it, this is your product. As a bonus, you can actually work on your bike on this stand - just keep the rear wheel elevated and adjust away. V-O sells it directly, of course, and they make so many great products that it's usually worth going to them directly and hitting the minimum for their free shipping.

Nearly every town bike in Holland has a kickstand; most are double-legged like the Velo Orange Copenhagen. The reason is that the Dutch are practical people for whom bicycles are an integral part of their daily lives. For getting from A-to-B they don't need the fastest, lightest titanium frames with carbon-fibre components. And no, they don't slip into skin-hugging lycra every morning to race fellow road warriors to the office, checking their fitness apps along the way to ensure they shave seconds off their personal best commute times. Instead, the Dutch clip on their pannier bags, climb casually onto the comfy, well-padded, sprung leather saddles of their solid, steel-framed bicycles, raise the kickstand, and take to the streets at a safe and civilised pace, going about their business without breaking a sweat. Kickstands free cyclists from the endless hassle of finding bike racks, or suitable street furniture to rest your bike against whenever you want to stop for a few minutes. They solidly support your cycle while loading your panniers, and save your hallway and living room walls from handlebar scuffs. The Copenhagen is a beautifully engineered piece of kit. I mounted mine securely into place behind the bottom bracket on my frame in minutes and without instructions. The mechanism is sturdy and the twin legs of the stand swing purposefully into place, creating a solid platform that keeps my 28" single-speed upright and stable while I'm taking a coffee break or loading up my pannier bag. The chrome legs then spring away to the side of my chain stay, perfectly tucked away from both wheel and pedal, where they remain secure, silent and unnoticed across even the bumpiest stretch of London's finest potholed tarmac.Flip them down again with a touch of your foot, and you can relax and enjoy another coffee! After a month of use, and the Copenhagen has become an invaluable part of my daily cycles, with its durable, high-quality engineering stoically and reliably kicking in and out of action without any sign of wear or tear. Velo Orange have created the practical cyclist's dream kickstand! If you are a gram-counting, lycra-sporting member of the daily commuter pelaton, nothing anyone says will convince you to invest in something as sensible as a kickstand; even if it will change your life for the better. Personally, when it comes to all things bicycle, I think the Dutch have it right!

Item was expensive but is well built. My daughter had a hard time at first using it but now is a pro. Now she can have her backpack in the milk crate on the back and the bike wont fall over.

I can only echo other contributors plaudits about this stand, easy to fit, plenty of clearance for pedals and wheel. Why can't all stands do this?I'm now considering fitting one of these to my Pashley Roadster which has a strange contraption which is part of the pannier rack. Same principle, lifts a wheel off the ground but can be quite wobbly and not very stable on a slope.Wish I'd gone through all the listings before I bought my last two stands (both for the same bike) this deserves a place on page 1, Amazon please note!

I bought this is for Surly Ogre small size frame. And this unfortunately didn't work. Bolt was too big or bolt space on frame was too small, and vice versa, just didn't fit...I tried this on Surly DiscTrucker with adapter and of course it worked fine.Due to supporting weight it must be heavy duty. So it is beautiful looking design but pretty heavy.SOMA and many other companies make the similar kickstands, but they are almost all the same. For commuter bike which doesn't cary lots of weight, you can get a lighter stand.

This thing isn't light but it's sturdy and does the job for my urban commutes. I love the solid sound it makes as it clicks into place with a kick of the foot, then I can let my bike sit comfortably as I get my panniers loaded and my gloves, lights and whatever ready. After installation it needed tightening once a couple of months later but I don't think I've had to tighten it since then, and I use it 2-4 times daily. Great purchase for my city hybrid commuter bike.

Easily fitted, tall bike so needed to extend the legs a notch to give a wider footprint to improve the stability, which ended up very good. Hopefullly they will go the distance, love the fact they deploy so easily.

This was one of those wow products. Simple to install, brilliant design, keeps the stand away from the chain guard and makes the bike very stable, extremely impressive. Looks good too.Absolutely brilliant bike stand

Love this kickstand. It’s tucked in nicely when not in use, it’s quiet, and it does a great job keeping the bike upright and stable when in use. Install is super simple too. Love it.

I bought this to replace a single stand which broke. I found it very easy to fit and adjust to the right length using an allen key. It hold the bike upright when attached to my new bike trailer. I like the way both legs fold to the same side.

Very stylish, sturdy, and adjustable. The mechanism is smooth and crisp. Do note that this kickstand can only be mounted with a bolt from above, intended to be used in the triangular space between the chainstays of a standard bicycle. It's not visible in the photos here, but the threaded hole does not go all the way through the body of the kickstand, and so it cannot be mounted with a bolt from below into a threaded hole in a solid surface, as in some specialty bikes such as the Strida line. If that's what you need, Soma makes a (somewhat more expensive and boxy) stand that is similar in function with a hole that goes through the body.
