Not quite sure what I'm supposed to do with this. Been buying bike parts since the 70's. Never seen or bought a "single" roll of handlebar tape (They come in SETS?!) Looks like decent Velox bar tape. Just not sure what I'm supposed to do with half of a handlebar tape. Don't guess I could recommend this item. Maybe I should order another HALF bar tape!? Guess you win some, and you lose some.

Wrap it on your handlebar and apply shellac. Now you have a handlebar that will last your whole life.Being bare cloth there is little to no cushion but you shouldnt be putting your whole weight on the handlebar on a properly fitted bike anyway

This tape is not inexpensive, but I didn't mind the price. The tape itself is fine, and you need two rolls to do both sides. My issue is that I had to be EXTREMELY careful not to do too much overlap on the tape or each tape was not long enough to do my bars. I had to rewrap the first bar three times to get a spaceing that would allow me to complete the bar. Another 5-6 inches would make a world of difference and cost in the company almost nothing.I fully admit that was my first time to use this product, but it was still very irritating. It makes me think of when you buy some product that need six tiny special screws or something similar, to assemble it. The product costs $100 and they give you exactly six screws. So, if you lose one, you have to contact them for another stinking little screw. Why not just give you one extra 15 cent screw to start with.

Das Textilband ist zwar recht robust, aber die Klebeseite scheint nur Doppelklebeband von geringer Qualität zu sein! Es haftet weder gut auf der Oberfläche noch wirkt es als sei es Bestandteil des Bandes!

Clearly listed as box of 10 in the description - only received one roll, as others did - should have read the reviews first. Will be asking for a refund.

I've used this same tape for 50 years now. Mostly on bicycle handlebars but I recently made a new wood walking stick and wanted something for the grip so I turned to Tressostar. To me this seems the same as the Velox product I used years ago. It worked well for my application and my photo is after around 20 hours of hiking. I'd never used the shellac method before but as I had some I tried it out. I did about 6 coats letting it saturate the fabric. It did a nice job of sealing and keeping it secure. This tape might not be for everyone and there are certainly a lot of options for handlebars. As for the negative reviews, perhaps some have unreal expectations of simple cloth tape. No, you're not going to get much padding from a layer of cotton tape. Often I've used a double layer of tape on handlebars to give a bit but normally one would rely on padded cycling gloves for padding with this kind of tape. As for coverage, from decades ago one roll covers one side of typical drop bars. It's always been this way. You will find vendors who sell 2 rolls per order as that's the norm for drop bars. With difficulty to apply. Yep it can be a challenge but yes it works. I can't even imagine the number of curved drop bars I've wrapped with this stuff. Road bikes with brake levers that you need to wrap around. The tape does not stretch so you do need to learn how to do this, but once you get the knack it gets easier. Velox is a French company that's been around as long as I can remember. They make/sell a lot of high-end bicycle products and I was happy to see I could still get Tressostar. This may not be for everyone but it gives a nice organic feel for whatever application you use it on.

This tape is awesome to get that nice vintage look that matches a brooks honey saddle. Unfortunately it is pretty thin so there isn't any padding. If you do a regular wrap over a set of drop bars you can get away with using 2 rolls. But you can wrap your bars with cork tape first and then over-wrap that cork with this cloth tape before shellacking everything on top. This allows for a nice bulky wrap that doesn't crush your Ulnar nerve and lets you put days in the saddle without any hand pain or numbness. The only problem with this is that if you wrap over cork (any color that is on sale because it doesn't matter) you are going to need 4 rolls of cloth tape to cover -that's 2 on each side of the handlebar. It's worth it because the finished product is sexy as all heck when it is done and looks as good as an all-leather bar-wrap which costs $50+You can even get away with using USED cork bar tape because the cloth tape will hold it all in and the the shellac will smother the whole outside with honey bug-spit goodness (shellac really is made out of the spit of bugs. Their suffering is your gain.)Just do it, you'll love how it looks. I'll try and post a picture of how sexy grey tape with shellac looks.

i like the color and texture of the tape but there is not enough tape to cover a normal drop bar. order two if you want to use this tape. it would have been helpful if the ad mentioned that two were needed to cover one handlebar, unless they think 'handlebar' means one side only. bogus. since the shipping was about as much as the price, i'm not about to order another one.
