Better looking than expected but product is not adhesive to side of particle board desk. Will need additional glue to remain attached.

Super quality, can be processed very well, even with tight curve radii that are to be glued. It worked without any problems. The adhesive performance is excellent. I glued it to a wooden edging and holds.

Use Case:Instead of buying a new desk when the edges of my current one started to wear, I thought getting a protector would be a faster, cheaper, easier fix. I don’t particularly feel like replacing all my furniture because the edge of my desk has started wearing down due to heavy use. This trim checked all my needs in theory.Adhesion:The trim’s edges immediately curled when it was installed. I know I could “loosen” that curl and amplify adhesion with heat, but when I rested my arms on the area that did stick I could tell it wouldn’t last very long. Even with heat, I don’t feel like that it would stay for a month let alone the years I plan on working at this desk. My needs may be outside the norm since I’m EXTREMELY tough on materials (keyboards, desks, etc.). I’m on my computer typing 45+ hours per week. For someone who isn’t going to be constantly rubbing against this trim, a little heat and light use may be perfectly fine with this product.Measurements:I found the measurements confusing because I didn’t know if the ones provided were for the “inside” width without the lips or “total” including lips. It’s an inside measurement. My desk is 3/4 of an inch thick so I bought the 20mm. I’ve attached a photo of the measured width which shows inside 20mm.If I had a straight edge to my desk 20mm would have been a perfect “sandwiched” fit where the top and bottom edges hugged the wood, but my desk has a gentle curve which I didn’t take into consideration (operator error, not a fault of the product - the BACK of my desk is straight where I took my measurements), making this just barely off. 22mm would have been better. I would have just trimmed off the bottom edge if I were going to use this product. I included a photo of the curved desk edge so you have a better idea of what I’m trying to describe.Summary:If you’re not installing this in a high-use area, it may work for you with a little heat.If it is going in a high-use area, I do not recommend this product. If you decide to buy, you may need to get an additional sticky backing or permanently glue the trim in place with some epoxy - both of which kind of defeats the purpose of having self-adhesion.
