It’s kind of, not great for insect bites. Spend a little more and get one that has a few smaller suction cups.

I hunt in the Southeast where copperheads and timber rattlers are fairly common. Having the Ven-Ex gives me peace of mind when going into the woods. The compact size makes it easy to carry or stow in a backpack. Highly recommend for all outdoorsmen.

I, thankfully, haven't had to use this yet. But it is just the right size for the first aid kit. It does create a good suction and is very simple to use. I am aware that this is not a replacement for medical treatment. But it definitely will not hurt and, in some situations, may be a helpful addition to treatment.I bought this because I read a news story about a woman whose 6 year old child was bitten by a copperhead. She used this kit while waiting on med flight. Two days later the child was running and playing like nothing had happened. The hospital told her that her use of this kit in the 3 minutes following the bite had probably made a big difference in the outcome.

Easy to use, appears to work well. Being an emergency item, I haven't had occasion to try it on a bite or sting yet. Both cups seem small, negligible difference in size so unsure about function on an actual snake bite. Whoever packed it did not include the antiseptic wipes, but all other parts are there.
