When we replaced our tstat, there was a gap on the wall where the old one was bigger & we had to find a way to cover it as we didn't want to have to repaint the entire wall &/or room (lest leave a jenky looking gap around the tstat that's right in our entryway where it is highly visible by all). Worked perfectly for our situation!
