My other review got deleted, I don't remember what I said. Was a lot in the review, short version down below.Even though box was damaged, still leaving high review. Probably wasn't packers fault, came in good condition regardless of damaged box. It's heavy, it's solid, sword does good job at opening mail with slight force, would buy from them again.

This item is perfect! Is stunning to look at and opens the door to many conversations. One question I do have how do I purchase another sword? Unfortunately, I lost it or someone took it and I would like to purchase just the sword to have this little beauty back to its perfected state. How does one go about purchasing another sword for this statute?

I was looking for a unique letter opener when I came across little swords and then eventually stumbled upon my humble desk servant. I don't normally write reviews but I have to say I am happy with my desk minion. The quality is great and the sword letter opener is a plus. Having a roman soldier perpetually bowing to me all day brings me more prestige and a sense of nobility! Not to mention my coworkers are jealous and I just hope he doesn't get stolen. He also guards my highlighter which is a plus. More than I wanted to spend, but who cares. He's a unique addition to my corner hole without a window.

Bought this as a gift for a professor of ancient history. It will look great on his desk. The detail on the statue is quite impressive.

I was looking for a decorative and functional letter opener and holder. After much research and reading reviews, I landed on this.Pros - this is very sturdy and well made. High quality craftsmanship and material used. Great weight! Also holds a pen.Cons - this is more preference but the sword was a bit smaller then I like. I would think for most guys, the sword will be too small and hard to grip making it slightly awkward to hold when opening mail. It's doable, but not preference. I ordered the Game of Thrown sword (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G35795K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and paired with this stand - could not be happier! Does the sword not match the roman times, yes. Do I care - not really. Functionality was first then looks. Check out my pics I uploaded. Hope this helps!

Excellent product. Very well made and sturdy. I read reviews saying that the little sword is not sharp enough. It is sharp enough to be a letter opener, its not meant to be a knife. I just love it!

I had been wanting a bronze statue representing the Romans (of which this is not - this is bronzed resin) - and I saw this and immediately purchased it. It's actually quite study and quite frankly, AWESOME. It does have some heft; it's not a work of art, but adds some dimension to my desk and a very cool air of the Roman Empire. Impressed with how well done it is - as noted multiple times, the sword itself is neither very useful nor historically accurate, but you can literally place anything in the hands to be presented at your beck and call.

Con: Sword did not match. Not the same colour or material. Not a gladius.Pro: the Roman soldier is beautiful. Its heavy and well made and beautifully detailed.Gave him as a gift to my Latin instructor. He really seemed to like it. I told my instructor to take the sword off and replace it with an engraved pen if given him a year prior.
