If you're looking for some flap wheels that you can use in an electric handheld drill or drill press, go no further.I agree with the overwhelming positive comments from other reviewers. I did a quick test though, and the before and after picture I attached reflect only about 10 seconds of light sanding. Although it doesn't look as impressive as you might think, 10 seconds of sanding with these 1200 grit abrasive were quite effective. Especially because I was having trouble holding the camera steady and holding the drill at arms length. The most notable feature about these abrasive drums is the flaps are quite thick, and the abrasive didn't wear off the drum very quickly. After this quick. test, I used the abrasives on some other projects, and they held up quite well.

This should be a lifetime supply of flap wheels for me. 5 each of 1, 1.5 and 2 inch diameter 80 grit wheels for a total of 15. It is great to have smaller wheels to work in tight areas and larger ones to cover larger areas more quickly. It took about two months to receive the wheels when ordered. Perhaps they were backordered. If that time frame will work for you they are a pretty good deal. When I ordered, the price was $14.99. As I am writing this review, I noticed that the price has increased to $19.99. That is still a reasonably good price. As always compare prices when buying.I have not used them extensively so I cannot judge how long they will last, but they seem to be of good quality.

Well-made, but don't order if you actually need then right away as it literally took me 2 months to get them; perhaps they were hand assembled! Anyway, they are nicely made and seem to be of high quality. Order well before you need them to stock up your toolbox. Good product - slow fulfillment.Made in China

They are of consistent quality and each one is clearly marked with the (80) grit size. These are meant to be used with a Dremel or ordinary drill driver for sanding oddly shaped objects. There are three sizes (and five each) at 2-inches, 1 1/2-inches and at 1-inch in diameter. The shank is 1 1/4-inch in length. This is a good, solid product.

I am really satisfied with this set of flap wheels. The assortment of sizes means you’ll always have exactly what you need to get the job done quick - more time working, less time searching for tools. They don’t wear down quickly at all. In fact I’m quite impressed with their longevity. They hold up really well. The paper backing is thicker and stronger than you’d expect. When I do wear through this bunch I absolutely will be ordering another set of these. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I typically run through flap sanders like this so this set was nice as it had a few different sizes. They work well but I feel as though they wear out quicker than I would have thought. Most work I have been doing is on mild steel.

When I picked these up, they were $13 for the set. For $0.87 each, I wasn't expecting much. But these are more durable than expected, and function really well. I've driven them with different motors, including a hand drill, stand drill, die grinder, and vertical mill. I've had no issue with them fraying or providing uneven contact. The flaps are securely attached, and are evenly spaced. I haven't worn one down out of its useful life yet, but I haven't been using them for production either. Color me impressed for the value found with these flap wheels.

I have been using them on and off for many of the projects we have on the go. You get a good selection in the box and the price is extremely competitive when you compare it to options at your local retail outlet where you'd be lucky to get 2 or 3 at best for the price. The instructions make it clear which direction they operate in and the grit number is easy to read. The smooth round surface of the chuck side is unfortunate - but all brands do that so it isn't a negative mark. They definitely perform as expected when you're working with harder woods and/or rougher projects. However, if you're looking to work on delicate items (such as plastics, expensive soft woods, carbon fibre) you will want to find softer sanding wheels. You have to remember that these are likely made in small, non corporate work places by using low-skill, low-technology methods of slapping many sheets of paper into a wheel and sending them out the door at low cost. This means you end up with a VERY rigid and stiff sanding wheel that will never be soft enough for delicate work and will have minimal to low precision. For high-precision, soft/delicate surfaces you need more technically innovative designs. All said.. the price point is right as long as this isn't for delicate work.

These took weeks for delivery but they are decent quality, The three sizes should cover most needs and they run fairly true and since you get five of each size you won't run out of your favorite size to quickly.

I'm mostly using these with a drill press to sand the inside surfaces of large cutouts in hardwood. The wheels work as well as other. I treat these as commodity items, and they are well priced for a set of 15.Would order again when I go through these.

I needed to take the high spots, burrs, and surface rust off of a pretty beat up lathe tool holder. I was looking to clean up and not refurbish the tool.I picked the largest diameter flap wheel, mounted it in the drill press, and selected a moderate speed. It cleaned up the surfaces pretty rapidly and took down the larger rough bits readily. The quality of the flap wheel is really quite high. The sandpaper backing is really quite heavy duty which has one small drawback which is that it doesn't wear away very fast to expose fresh abrasive. So it was generally a little bit slower but more controlled with less dust and a longer lasting flap wheel. After cleaning up the lathe tool I cleaned up a bunch of other metal bits and pieces in the studio that were in need of some attention and I wasn't at all disappointed. There was tons of life left in the wheel.I also like that it has a smooth 1/4 inch shank so I can get it into a pneumatic die grinder when needed.Great quality, nice range of sizes, and all around really good value. I can definitely recommend these.

I was pleased with the assortment of flap wheels received with this package. Each one is made of high quality material and can be used for various purposes: from smoothening out sharp edges, peeling paint or removing unwanted groves, deburring, you name it. I've mostly used solid grinding wheels and I found flap wheels to be more forgiving and durable. If you have a need for high quality flap wheels of varying sizes with your project, I would not hesitate to get these. As an Amazon Vine Voice, I provide unbiased reviews of products most people would need or want. Ultimately, I balance expectations against price. If an item significantly deviates from it's description or just does not work as intended, I will note this in my review. My sincerest goal is to help buyers make the right choice.

Boy, do these things take off a surface if you're not careful! That said, it's not hard to moderate the amount of pressure you apply. And since you don't really want to put toooo much sideways force on a drill, it's probably best to be a bit more on the "slow and steady" end of the spectrum when using these. They are definitely stiffer than I was expecting, having never used a flap wheel before. And they're smaller than I expected... but I guess that's on me because the size is stated in the Amazon product page! That said, despite their small size, I still find it a challenge to get into tight corners with them because they are so stiff. One thing that would have been better, imho, is a flat side to the bit so that it is properly secure in the drill. However, see my above note about not putting too much pressure on the object you're stripping.Overall, for the $20 price tag for 15 flap wheels - 5 in each of 3 sizes - I don't see how you can go too far wrong. Recommended!
