They look smart. But after screwing in the paint cracked away and both the base in parts and screw heads have rusted in couple weeks! Expected it to last longer than that, nothing I can do now and ruins the look of my new deck.

Love the weight of these. Came well packaged although one was damaged on the top edge (see photo). They look great on the posts and really dress it up.However, the included screws are garbage. All the screw heads immediately rusted (screws on left side of 1st photo) the day after install due to rain. Unfortunately the holes on the skirts are not recessed so the flat screen heads stick out and look terrible. We replaced the screws with #8 round head black stainless steel screws. Looks much better (see screws on right side of 1st photo). One skirt was a little damaged upon arrival and immediately rusted after install. We'll just paint that one, but should have returned it for a replacement. Overall I really like these, just be sure to buy better screws.

This is a pic of my new deck; it's not finished yet. However, the pic shows the product I'm reviewing in use. This is a decent product; It'll last forever! I recommend it...Follow-up: From the first paragraph to this paragraph, I ordered four more bases. When doing so, I looked at the add carefully, and felt a need to write the following: The vertical rail posts, as shown in pic two, are cemented into the ground; this is where they gain their strength, not the product in review. I'm only using this product for cosmetics... I do not believe a 4' rail post (as shown in the ad), can ever be held securely from a 2.4" high bracket screwed at its base. And that's no reflection on this product, other than I see it's being advertised as a base mount to hold an approximant 4' rail post. There is an added strength from the horizonal top handrail connecting all the rail post together. But I still see a liability there. If you use these brackets as advertised, test-out the strength of your railing before trusting it. One pic in the ad shows a railing with a 90 deg corner; that geometry in itself has strength, and these brackets may be ok there. But in a straight line for any distance, probably not. In my opinion, a railing mounted this way will never support a human leaning hard against, or, falling into it...Please rebut my review if you have history using this product 'as advertised' and find it to be safe.Thank you, and God Bless,

We liked the bases but the screws supplied with them started showing signs of rust only one day after installation.The bases fit nicely and provide a strong anchor for the posts but the fasteners supplied were second rate

Product was way over size for a 4x4 . Screws were not galvanized, just plain old drywall screws that crush the plate when you try to secure them to the post. Sloppy manufacturers.
