Aluminum Alloy Body

At 400 plus dollars I expected this machine to be easy to use& get amazing engraving. I can only get scratches. Either a piece is missing or.it’s Very badly designed. 1 cannot get ring & needle to sit properly to engrave. 2 The clip that holds the spring is broken & will not hold hand piece. 3. Hand piece does not sit properly & believe it is broken as it does not marry with engraver needle, I am also very annoyed that I could not pay through PayPal & I hope Amazon checks this machine. I am also finding it very hard to find my order from Amazon. Unless seller can explain I will be asking for a refund. Sent seller message.

Was a little nervous about the purchase considering some of the bad reviews but it is in fact a great machine. I installed a work light in order to see the progress as I engrave. Patience and practice is key to to obtaining a quality and uniform engraving. I'd advise getting some copper pipe and cutting into rings to practice on, I simply made assorted sizes and used them to figure out how many clicks for letter spacing. Some letters require more space than others depending on size and shape "example" letter D needs more space afterwards than letter J. Also you can have new font plates made by machinest for relatively moderate prices as I couldn't find any for sale thru manufacturer.Packaging was sturdy and only dings it had was on the paint of the tracer arm where it clips into it's holder, something that would unavoidably happen anyway with use due to design, it also a had few scratches to the brass font plate, no doubt from the needle on the tracer arm swinging around freely while in transit.I'm overall very happy with this purchase, so if you're sceptical like I was in the beginning Id say GO FOR IT!
