I bought this heater for my detached garage. I filled it with kerosene and it started with ease. I ran it for just a few minutes to test it and turned it off. I went back the next morning and went to start it. I saw that it had a leak where the tank seam meets the base of the heater. It leaked kerosene on the base and puddled on the floor. I cannot recommend this heater. Unfortunately for me to return it, I have to drive an hour away. What a pain and a POS.

OK i brought this heater to heat my green house for the late season plants. i used this heater twice and the unit works the way i want with thermostat. This heater has one major flaw and that is you have to fill it a tablespoon at a time all 5 gallons worth! lol it can take almost an hour to fill it. the tank holds 5 gallons but good luck getting that 5 gallons in the tank with out making a massive mess. once the tank gets to about half way filled up this air lock happens and it burps all the fuel back at you getting fuel all over you and the floor! there is a strainer in the fill neck that cause its to trap air if you remove it then it seems to fill better. The fuel cap has a tiny vent hole built in and it allows air pressure to flow back an forth. if you move this heater with fuel in it, that trapped air pocket creates an back pressure forcing fuel up and into that air vent in the cap and spews fuel every where!!!!WARNING!!!DO NOT MOVE THIS UNIT WITH A FULL TANK WHILE ITS RUNNING!!! You will definitely have a fire you wont be able to put out!! This unit is very very dangerous!!Out side of the potential fire hazard the unit works great otherwise. i will keep the unit for a while an then i will return it as i dont want a fire on my hands. As a side note Kerosene is the worst to wash off it smalls so bad even after washing soap several times cloths are ruined as well cant get the stench of desil or kerosene out. spend a little more money and buy a well known brand with a known history. I will update with more details once i return it.
